"so obviously they have 2 options when choosing arcrylic nails, 65$ which is just for normal polish and 80$-90$ for gel polish. I obviously chose the cheaper option, just because I preferred a normal base color, no designs, no detail. I went with my friend who had chosen the gel option. And of course there was already a clear divide on how they treat a customer who pays more compared to a customer who pays 15$ less. Not only did the woman who was doing my set, start giving attitude as soon as I asked for a similar design/color as my friend when I questioned why she couldn’t. Her excuse being my nails was too short? And that I had to “Wait for them to grow longer.” She then continued to start working on my nails in a rough manner, with the electric filer, actually burning my skin. To the point I had to tell her “That hurts.” To which she just held the part of my finger where it hurt. For 2 seconds then continued without apology. Then proceeded to have me dry my hands under the light lamp while my friend got to dry her set under a nail dryer AND got a hand massage . Yes I’m upset. Because even once I had walked out, my nails werent even completely dry and smudged on the way home . This was AFTER I had to sit there with my fingers under a lamp for 20 minutes. Do better and respect your customers. No matter what price they’re paying. If you want more money, up your price. Don’t offer a “cheaper” option then get upset when a customer ACTUALLY selects that option."
"Love my Nail Tech here. This salon is good as long as she (Sarah) continues to work here. Always listens to what I want to create. Me being ex Nail Tech, I am most particular and together we come up with fabulous designs. Nothing is ever to impossible to create - unless they don’t have a product. Salon could do with a general clean and tidy up though. It is always busy but I’m always able to get in. It is easy to find, plenty of parking as it’s located in a Mall. Friendly accomodating staff."
"I must admit, I was worried when I saw other reviews but I had already made the appointment and thought I would go ahead anyway. I am so happy with the service and my French tip nails look fabulous. I would highly recommend!"
"Hollywood Nails at Bayfair used to be the best, better than the large chain salons and the little owner-operated ones. It’s standards have majorly slipped. Their techniques have become corner-cutting and injurious and I rarely leave happy anymore. This last time is the worst and I won’t be going back. I walked in with regular self-painted nails, to get SNS and left with damaged nails, damaged cuticles and poorly finished nails. The technician clearly had very little practice. Despite saying it was regular polish, she started by sanding holes through my nail polish and into the nail surface. Totally unnecessary. She then applied the SNS layers in the wrong order, leaving each dip so thickly piled up that by the end my nails had a full 2mm coating. She gave them a cursory sand, taking a massive painful gouge out of my thumb on the way and shredding most of my cuticles. I remarked that they were still very thick and asked if they were going to sand them down more. At this point she handed over to who I believe is the owner, who tried to fix it. She had to spend a full half hour trying to sand down the thickness, and then finished with gel for some reason, which dried streaky and matte on 3 nails. I still have clear coat all over my fingers and can’t get it off a day later. I can’t even go somewhere else to have them redone because my cuticles are too painfully damaged to have acetone on them. Happy birthday to me."
