Welcome to Busy Bees at Castlemaine, a warm and nurturing learning environment for children aged birth to 5 years. Located on Johnstone Street, our establishment is not only a point of interest but also a school where children can grow and thrive.

Our architecturally designed indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to ignite children's sense of curiosity and discovery. From our timber fort and slide to our sandpit, bike path, and vegetable gardens, children have plenty of opportunities to explore and play in a safe and stimulating environment.

At Busy Bees at Castlemaine, our philosophy revolves around the discovery and exploration of respectful relationships with children. We believe in offering uninterrupted playtime, freedom, a calm environment, cooperative relationships, and our undivided attention to every child. Our child-led learning programs are tailored to each child's interests, abilities, culture, and strengths. We provide exciting opportunities and challenges for children to develop and grow, while nurturing their individuality and allowing them to progress at their own pace.

Our child-led curriculum is designed to build confident and active learners, using a holistic approach to education that fosters social and emotional development. Our funded Kindergarten program, led by Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teachers, prepares children for their next big steps in school. We work closely with you and local schools to ensure a successful transition.

Sam West, the Service Manager, has been with Busy Bees at Castlemaine for the past 13 years. Starting as a Diploma Trainee, Sam has worked her way up to become the Service Manager in 2014. Sam is dedicated to setting children up to be the best they can be, ensuring they feel loved and safe in the daycare center. Her teaching philosophy is based on the Reggio Emilia approach, believing that it takes a village to raise a child. In her spare time, Sam enjoys spending time with her two boys and participating in sports activities.

Criselda, also known as Cris, is the 2IC for Busy Bees at Castlemaine. With 17 years of experience in the childcare industry and a Diploma in Children's Services, Cris is passionate about giving children the best start in life. She believes in nurturing a child's sense of personal worth, hope, and dreams and aims to provide care and support as they embark on their learning journey. Cris works collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the community to create a positive and effective environment for our children. In her free time, Cris enjoys cooking, shopping, being creative, and spending time with loved ones.
