Welcome to Maungaraki Kindergarten, located in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. Our kindergarten is situated on a sunny site behind the shopping centre in Maungaraki, providing a vibrant and inviting learning environment for children.

At Maungaraki Kindergarten, our dedicated teachers are passionate about providing high-quality education to all children. We believe in developing programs that cater to the interests and needs of each individual child, ensuring a personalized learning experience. Our goal is to foster a love for learning and promote the holistic development of every child.

One of our highlights is our well-developed outdoor area, which offers a variety of learning opportunities for children. From exploring nature to engaging in physical activities, our outdoor space encourages children to learn and grow in a natural and stimulating environment.

The guiding principle of our kindergarten is "Ma te huruhuru ka rere te manu" which means "Adorn the bird with feathers so it can fly." This embodies our commitment to providing the necessary support and resources for children to thrive and reach their full potential.

We prioritize the wellbeing of our tamariki (children), whanau (families), and kaiako (teachers). We strive to create an interdependent learning environment that upholds the health and wellbeing of everyone in our kindergarten community. Our commitment to Te Tiriti partnership celebrates the diverse makeup of our community.

At Maungaraki Kindergarten, we believe in a play-based curriculum that fosters children's social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Through opportunities to explore, create, and be curious, children develop a love for learning that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Our dedicated team at Maungaraki Kindergarten includes Head Teacher Carolyn Evans, along with teachers Kathy Kempton, Alpana Sharma, Lucy Ainsworth, and Kristin Wildash. Hannah Cornish serves as our Kindergarten Administrator, ensuring smooth operations and communication.
