"Very poor transit visa process Applied in wellington nz through Vfs. They does not take responsibility and direct us to Australian high commision For a transit visa for a 3 hour airport stay asking to undergo medical costing $700 It gave so much stress as my date to travel was very close and noone wanted to listen to me till the time I get medical done .. which is very weird requirement Luckily I applied for my NZ passport as soon I got my citizenship and got it in 2 days I know they will not change their process but atleast tell you staff to listen to customers Don't make decision without listening I will avoid to travel through Australia for this very reason My travel is sorted but don't behave like this with others"
"Not too hard to get to as it's an easy walk from Wellington train station. I turned up a few minutes before my appointment and by the time I git through security I had only a couple of minutes wait. The whole team there was efficient but very polite. The couple of questions I had were answered easily and courageously. Make sure you make an appointment before just turning up. With the current COVID situation they don't accept walk-ins."
"Have to wait outside if you are early. No seating outside to sit. No toilets. Lots of doors not automatic .. heavy to open for older people. Staff helpful mostly"
"I spoke to staff at the High Commission and was given the most disgraceful service. They were un-Australian and and lacked all compassion even though she didn't know what I was asking. She assumed wrongly and then would not provide her name as she knew she had overstepped the mark. Is this the way you treat not only Australian citizens she is the worst advertisement for a consulate and I want an apology for her insipid behavior.."
"I was really nicely surprised how caring they care. I had an appointment booked for South Island visit but my flight there was cancelled. I rang them to explain my situation and even though they were fully booked for this last day of visit, they managed to reschedule me for that day and I could still get there with my later flight even though I thought I would have to go different day to Auckland after all...With the consul everything went smoothly and even though I thought I had all my documents ready, there was some new rule, new low or something I didn't know about... Luckily he knew about this and gave me this extra document to fill up so I have everything complete and don't need to come back. Very impressed with the whole approach of these people working here."
