Our dedicated manager, Jayne, has been recognized as the Somerset Citizen of the Year 2022 for her unwavering commitment and voluntary work in the Somerset region for over 35 years. Jayne's passion for health and fitness led her to establish Somerset Health and Fitness, which manages both the Kilcoy Indoor Sports Centre and Toogoolawah Community Gym. With a wide range of group fitness classes and programs available at both locations, there is something for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. Our mission is to help you improve your health and fitness and live life to the fullest.
While we may be located in a rural area, we are far from small. Our facilities and services are designed to meet the needs of our vibrant community. Jayne, our manager, originally visited Kilcoy in 1987 and fell in love with the area, never leaving since then.
The Somerset Health Fitness and Weight Loss Centre, formerly known as Somerset Health Fitness and Yoga, was established in 2008 by Jayne McKenzie. Initially, it started as a personal gym and fitness space but soon transformed into a thriving fitness center. Jayne's dedication to giving back to the community has always been a priority, despite the challenges posed by limited space and a tucked away location.
In 2009, Jayne left her government position and devoted herself to building Somerset Health and Fitness into a premier fitness center for the benefit of the entire community. Her commitment to grassroots engagement and accountability has been unwavering. When the opportunity arose to manage the Kilcoy Indoor Sport Centre and Toogoolawah Community Gym, Jayne saw it as the perfect fit for her vision.
Jayne's hard work and dedication have been recognized through various awards, including the QRRRWN Small Business Award and runner up of QRRRWN Business Women of the Year 2018. Somerset Health Fitness and Weight Loss Centre is also the first business in Queensland to complete a rigorous audit and accreditation by Fitness Australia.
As the new community gym and swimming pool were being built, Jayne took the initiative to acquire the necessary certifications and qualifications in swimming pool and spa services. She also completed courses in Aqua Zumba and Learn to Swim to provide the best fitness, health, and swimming experience for all visitors.
Our team at Toogoolawah Swimming Pool consists of fully qualified staff who hold Blue Cards, ensuring your safety and enjoyment at our facilities. We strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals and are committed to helping you achieve your fitness goals.
Come and experience the best in fitness, health, swimming, and more at Toogoolawah Swimming Pool.
