About the Business
Welcome to Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat, a place where you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Located in the picturesque town of Moogerah, Australia, our institution offers a unique camping experience that goes beyond just a campground or a caravan park - we are a family.
Owned and operated by Ben and Megan, along with their four lovely daughters, Moogerah Lakeside is not just a place to stay, but a place to create lasting memories. Nestled beside a stunning lake and surrounded by hectares of beautiful Australian bushland, our retreat offers the perfect opportunity to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature.
One of the highlights of Moogerah Dam is its abundance of fish, including Australian Bass, Mary River Cod, Golden and Silver Perch. Whether you're an avid angler or simply enjoy a delicious fish dinner, our dam provides fantastic opportunities for both catching and eating.
At Moogerah Lakeside, we believe in slowing down and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. When permitted, campfires are welcomed, allowing you to gather around with loved ones, roast marshmallows, and enjoy the warmth of the flames. Take a leisurely stroll through our pristine bushland and discover easy walking tracks that lead you to encounters with native wildlife such as Koalas, Kangaroos, and our resident goanna.
For those who love water activities, we offer boat and kayak rentals, or you can bring your own. Whether you're into skiing, fishing, or simply cruising along the lake, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Beyond our retreat, the surrounding area offers even more attractions to explore. Boonah, a charming country town, is nestled among world heritage-listed areas and boasts stunning views of the Scenic Rim mountains. With its traditional 'high street' and welcoming locals, Boonah offers a unique shopping experience and a thriving arts community.
Just a short drive away, the village of Aratula serves as a resting place for travelers crossing the Great Dividing Range. Here, you can indulge in delicious treats from the local bakery, cafe, and fruit shop.
Mt Alford, another nearby town, is home to the Scenic Rim Brewery and offers breathtaking views and rolling countryside. Don't forget to visit the lavender farms for a truly aromatic experience.
Moogerah Dam is centrally located to these lovely towns, making it the perfect base for exploring the area. Only 10 minutes from Aratula and easily accessible from the Cunningham Highway, our retreat is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
So why not slow down and escape to Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat? Our family is here to welcome you, and our beautiful surroundings are ready to provide you with a truly unforgettable experience. Send us a quick note, and Ben or Megan will get back to you ASAP with your booking confirmation.

Reviews
"Beautiful camp ground right on Moogerah Lake. Very clean amenities and the people are very friendly"
"This campsite was terrible for pitching up, too many trees and the ground is uneven and full of ditches, no lighting up to the toilets, wouldn’t return here unfortunately"
"This is one of our favourite camping spots. The warm is lovely and warm, the grounds a clean, there’s ample space between campsites for privacy and the people that fun it are lovely. Looking forward to our next trip."
"This was a nice place stay mainly because it was so quiet and had we had prime position on the concrete slab site with the grass at the top of the campground. It was $60 for 2A 2C and a dog on a powered site which was the most we’ve paid for camping on over three weeks of camping around in NSW. The lake is nice and just a short walk. There weee two guys ‘fishing’ when we were there but all they caught were turtles. 4 to be exact. I’m sure there’s fish in the lake but most likely not at the waters edge. Men’s toilets needed toilet roll replacement and a clean."
"Meghan and Ben have done a wonderful job at this site and are continuing to do so. Quiet and relaxed grounds, all amenities are clean. We stayed in a cottage and our friends had campsites, either option is a great choice."
