Highfields Falls is a haven for bird enthusiasts, offering an ideal spot for bird watching. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the bushland park as you embark on a scenic walk, exploring the creek crossing and the mesmerizing waterfall.
Within the park, you will find two one-way walks, namely the Bowerbird and Cuckoo-Dove walks, along with five walking circuits, all named after the birds that inhabit the area. These walks may be relatively short, but they offer a delightful experience with stunning scenery and numerous photo opportunities.
Please note that when visiting Highfields Falls Bushland Park, it is important to leave your pets at home. Additionally, there are no toilet or water facilities available within the park, so it is advisable to come prepared.
The Bowerbird Walk takes you from the Yellow Robin Walking Circuit down to the base of the waterfall. Follow this walk north for approximately 70 meters and look for the steps on the right-hand side. Descend the natural rock steps and be prepared to capture a snapshot of this natural wonder. However, do exercise caution as the steps may become slippery when wet.
On the other hand, the Cuckoo-Dove Walk leads you to the top of the waterfall. From the Yellow Robin Walking Circuit, turn east at the intersection with Cuckoo-Dove Walk and follow the track until you reach a little stream that guides you to the top of the waterfall. Be mindful of your step as it may be slippery when wet.
For a relatively flat and enjoyable loop, explore the Golden Whistler Walking Circuit. Spanning 710 meters, this circuit can be accessed through the Barber Road carpark. It is connected to the Kingfisher Walking Circuit and showcases a wealth of flora and fauna.
If you're up for a longer stroll, the Kingfisher Walking Circuit is your best choice. This easy 920-meter circuit can be accessed through the James Byrne Road carpark. It connects with the Rosella and Golden Whistler Walking Circuits, offering a diverse and enriching experience.
The Lorikeet Walking Circuit is a pleasant 585-meter loop that crosses a creek twice and traverses a grassy paddock near Ballantyne Court. It is connected to the Rosella and Yellow Robin Walking Circuits, providing a seamless exploration of the park.
The Rosella Walking Circuit, an effortless 545-meter loop, connects the James Byrne Road carpark with the Lorikeet Walking Circuit. It runs adjacent to the Kingfisher Walking Circuit, allowing visitors to seamlessly transition between the trails.
Last but not least, the Yellow Robin Walking Circuit takes you on a scenic loop walk with zig-zags, a creek crossing, steps, and stepping stones. This 750-meter loop is best walked clockwise, allowing you to navigate the steep zig-zags downhill. It provides access to the waterfall through the Cuckoo-Dove Walk and the Bowerbird Walk, offering breathtaking views of the top and bottom of the waterfall. Keep your eyes open as this park is home to a variety of fascinating bird species.
Experience the beauty of Highfields Falls and immerse yourself in the wonders of nature. Whether you're a bird lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a serene escape, this establishment promises an unforgettable experience.

Reviews
"Very beautiful and very peaceful. Absolutely lovely place with loads of wildlife."
"Worth a look. We'll maintained grass trail. A nice way to enjoy our beautiful region."
"A nice easy walk to get you immersed in nature without a trek. I think other reviews were a bit harsh. This is not a big national park, so not to expect grand waterfalls. Nice enough waterfall surrounded by greenery! Great bush walk for anyone who wants to get amongst nature without driving too far from town"
"Its a lovely place to visit. We had the little ones with us and they had so much fun playing in the creek and watching the water."
"Great walking trails with lots of bird sounds. Tranquil setting. No public toilets or bbq/picnic facilities."
