Our clinic, known as the Student-led Health and Wellness Clinic (HaWC), is a part of the Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH) initiative. SQRH aims to enhance rural health training opportunities for nursing, midwifery, and allied health students, as well as health professionals in regional, rural, and remote communities.

Situated within the Baillie Henderson Hospital campus, our clinic provides a unique interprofessional health and wellness program. This program is delivered by nursing and allied health students under the supervision of experienced health professionals. We take pride in offering high-quality care and support to individuals with low to rising risk of chronic diseases.

Queensland, particularly Southern Queensland, faces significant challenges related to chronic diseases. At the Health and Wellness Clinic, we strive to empower participants with the knowledge and skills to lead their healthiest lives. Our program focuses on building an understanding of chronic disease management and promoting healthy lifestyle practices.

Our next block of the program is set to commence in February 2024. To refer a patient, please complete the form provided on our website and include it with your referral. We require a referral from a GP to join the program, so we encourage you to discuss your interest with your healthcare provider.
