Established in 2001 under the guidance of Townsville City Council, Townsville Community Garden Inc (TCGI) now manages the garden through a lease arrangement. The council owns the land and major infrastructure, while TCGI is run by a dedicated volunteer committee elected annually by garden members.
At Townsville Community Garden, you'll find a diverse range of food plants and flowers cultivated by individual gardeners. From various vegetables like root vegetables and leafy greens, to fruit trees, bananas, pineapples, herbs, flowers, and even grains such as corn and sunflowers, our garden is a vibrant tapestry of flavors and colors.
