About the Business
Welcome to Balmoral Close Park, a picturesque establishment located in Mount Sheridan, Australia. As a park and point of interest, we offer a tranquil oasis where visitors can immerse themselves in nature and enjoy a variety of activities.
At Balmoral Close Park, we strive to provide a vibrant cultural experience for our guests. From Friday 25 August to Sunday 3 September, we host a range of events that showcase the best of Australia's culture, arts, music, comedy, and visual arts. Whether you're a fan of live performances or looking for a family-friendly outing, our park has something for everyone.
For those looking to add a furry friend to their family, join us on Saturday 2 September at the Aeroglen Dog Park for our Dog Adoption Day. This heartwarming event connects prospective pet owners with adorable dogs in need of a loving home.
In addition, we are proud to support sustainable practices in our community. On the same day, the Trash to Treasure Fair will be held at the Buy Back Shop in Portsmith. This event promotes recycling and repurposing by offering a variety of second-hand goods for sale.
While we regret to inform you that the Cairns Festival Grand Parade will not be rescheduled this year, we continue to celebrate the rich history of our region. Council is currently considering the dedication of the pavilion in Norman Park, Gordonvale, to the late Stan Marsh, honoring his significant contributions to our community.
At Balmoral Close Park, we also prioritize environmental conservation. In conjunction with the Clean Up Cairns initiative, we recently conducted a successful clean-up campaign, collecting over 10,350 cigarette butts from three city streets. This effort highlights our commitment to maintaining a clean and sustainable environment for all.
As we operate within the traditional lands of the Djabugay, Yirrganydji, Buluwai, Gimuy Walubara Yidinji, Mandingalbay Yidinji, Gunggandji, Dulabed and Malanbara Yidinji, Bundabarra and Wadjanbarra Yidinji, Wanyurr Majay, Mamu, and NgadjonJii peoples, we acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians. We extend this respect to all elders, past, present, and future, as well as other First Peoples within our region.
Located at 119-145 Spence Street, Cairns, QLD, 4870, Australia, our Council Chambers serve as a central hub for community engagement and decision-making. We invite you to visit us and be part of shaping our vibrant community.
Come and experience the beauty and diversity of Balmoral Close Park. Whether you seek relaxation, entertainment, or a connection to nature, our institution offers a memorable experience for all who visit.

Reviews
"HUGE un-fenced, open park space with creek, benches, water bubbler & doggie bags. The regulars are kind / welcoming, and most of the dogs who frequent here are well mannered. Never had an encounter with a bad dog in this park. There’s also an on-leash park across the road with a playground, BBQ plate & bench."
"This park also serves to detain water run-off to avoid flooding, There is not a high level of service at this park, but it is an open green space, and we need these places. It is quite popular with people walking their dog."
"Lovely dog park with water and a big open space to run."
"There's a creek available for dogs to swim and a big area for running and playing with other dogs. Parking available."
"It's a Dog friendly park. Dogs can run run run without a lead and meet new friends."
