But our offerings don't stop there. On Saturday 2 September, we invite you to join us at the Aeroglen Dog Park for our Dog Adoption Day. It's an opportunity to find a new furry friend and make a lasting connection that will bring joy to your life.
Additionally, on the same day, the Trash to Treasure Fair will be taking place at the Buy Back Shop in Portsmith. From 9am to 1pm, you can explore a treasure trove of unique items and support sustainable practices by giving new life to preloved goods.
While we regret to inform you that the Cairns Festival Grand Parade will not be rescheduled this year, we are continuously working towards creating unforgettable experiences for our visitors. In fact, the council is considering naming the pavilion in Norman Park, Gordonvale, in honor of the late Stan Marsh, a testament to our commitment to honoring those who have made a significant impact on our community.
At Milky Pine Park, we also prioritize environmental conservation. During the launch of Clean Up Cairns, we collected an astounding 10,350 cigarette butts from three city streets. This initiative reflects our dedication to maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of our surroundings.
As we cherish the land we inhabit, we acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of our region. The Djabugay, Yirrganydji, Buluwai, Gimuy Walubara Yidinji, Mandingalbay Yidinji, Gunggandji, Dulabed and Malanbara Yidinji, Bundabarra and Wadjanbarra Yidinji, Wanyurr Majay, Mamu, and NgadjonJii peoples are the custodians of this land, and we extend our respect to all elders past, present, and future, as well as other First Peoples within our region.
