While we regretfully announce that the Cairns Festival Grand Parade will not be rescheduled this year, we assure you that there are still plenty of exciting events and attractions to enjoy within our park.

In recognition of the late Stan Marsh's significant contributions, the council is considering naming the pavilion in Norman Park, Gordonvale, in his honor. This dedication serves as a tribute to his legacy and the impact he made in our community.

At Robert Rossi Park Cairns, we prioritize environmental sustainability and cleanliness. At the launch of Clean Up Cairns, we collected approximately 10,350 cigarette butts from three city streets. This initiative highlights our commitment to maintaining a clean and pristine environment for all to enjoy.

As a council, we acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of our region, including the Djabugay, Yirrganydji, Buluwai, Gimuy Walubara Yidinji, Mandingalbay Yidinji, Gunggandji, Dulabed and Malanbara Yidinji, Bundabarra and Wadjanbarra Yidinji, Wanyurr Majay, Mamu, and NgadjonJii peoples. We extend this respect to all elders, past, present, and future, as well as other First Peoples within our region.
