The name "Ngak Min" holds significant meaning in the western Cape York language of Wik Mungkan, as it translates to "healthy water." Just as Elders would welcome visitors onto Country by placing water from the land on their heads, we aim to prevent, protect, and heal, just like the water of the land.

Our team at Ngak Min Health consists of highly skilled healthcare professionals and allied health professionals. This includes general practitioners, a nurse practitioner, an Aboriginal health worker, registered nurses, social and emotional wellbeing counselors, and mental health clinical professionals. Together, we offer a range of services and supports for preventative early intervention, chronic conditions, and social and emotional wellbeing.

Since 2019, our focus has been on tackling the health gap experienced by First Nations people. Located on a college campus, we aim to reduce inequalities in health outcomes by promoting health-seeking behavior and empowering students and families to make informed decisions about their own health.
