Welcome to Riverway Lagoons, a premier establishment and point of interest located in Thuringowa Central, Australia. Situated at Sporting Drive, 15, our institution offers a unique experience that combines natural beauty with a focus on community safety.

Recently, we have undergone a thorough safety audit and made updates to our Lifeguard Supervision Plan to prioritize the safety of our visitors. We have implemented additional measures to ensure that community safety remains paramount. As a result, the lower lagoon will be fully operational during school holidays. However, after this period, it will only be open on weekends until further notice. Additionally, please note that the Lifeguard Hours for both the upper and lower lagoons will be from opening until 5.00pm until further notice.

Spanning an area larger than three Olympic swimming pools, the Riverway Lagoons provide a stunning backdrop for relaxation and recreation. Nestled among shady raintrees, these lagoons are complemented by the picturesque Ross River, creating a serene and peaceful environment.

The lagoons are surrounded by well-established raintrees, along with the extensive overhangs of the Riverway Arts Centre roof and additional shade structures. These features provide a protected year-round safe swimming environment, ensuring that visitors can enjoy their time with peace of mind.

There are two distinct lagoon areas, each offering a unique experience. The upper lagoon is designed for more formal uses, including a designated area for swimming laps. It also provides specific areas for disabled and elderly access, complete with handrails and suitable water levels.

On the other hand, the lower lagoon offers a more relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect place for kids to build sand castles and play in shallow water. Meanwhile, the rest of the family can lounge on the timber decks, enjoying the shade provided by the surrounding trees.
