Nolan Gallery & School of Art Hobart, Tasmania 7004
About the Business
Welcome to Nolan Gallery & School of Art, a vibrant and inspiring institution located in the heart of Hobart, Tasmania. As a renowned art gallery, establishment, and point of interest, our mission is to showcase the works of talented contemporary artists and provide art workshops for all ages.
Starting this September, we are thrilled to kick off our exhibition season with "Conversations" by Bruny Island abstract painter Sarah L Stewart. Opening on Friday, September 8th at 6pm, this elegant and affordable show will run until October 3rd. Following that, in October, we invite you to explore the exhibition titled "Threshold," featuring captivating works by Huon Valley artists Caroline McGregor, Jack Braudis, and Erin Amor. The grand opening for this exhibition will take place on Friday, October 6th at 6pm.
Looking ahead to November, we are excited to present an exhibition of affordable art by our regular artists. Additionally, 2024 promises to be an extraordinary year, with a retrospective by Leonard Benson, new work by Keith Lane, and a solo exhibition for textile artist June Hope.
We are also thrilled to announce that Nolan Gallery is now part of the Collect Art Scheme, a Tasmanian Government sponsored interest-free loan program that helps patrons purchase Tasmanian art. To take advantage of this initiative, simply ask at the desk and our friendly staff will be delighted to assist you.
In addition to our exhibitions, we offer a range of workshops and classes for both kids and adults. All term 3 sessions are now available online, providing a convenient and accessible way to enhance your artistic skills. Gift certificates for our workshops and classes are also available, allowing you or your loved ones to enjoy the gift of creativity, redeemable over 12 months.
Situated in the historic Salamanca Arts Centre, our gallery is nestled among the iconic sandstone warehouses that were once used for whaling and jam making. Today, these warehouses are owned by the Tasmanian people and have been transformed into a hub for visual and performing arts. You can find the entrance to Nolan Gallery and Nolan School of Art adjacent to the historic Long Gallery, on the first floor of 77 Salamanca Place.
Please note that there are no upcoming classes scheduled at this time. If you encounter any issues loading class details, we kindly ask you to refresh the page and try again.

Reviews
"Unrelated to what they actually do, however, I was in my vehicle when a orange Nolan gallery vehicle happen to hit my car, I proceeded to get out of my car and the driver simply drove off like nothing happened. Thanks for that mate, your car is busted from the back now, not a good image."
"Attended a class here, and I'm very satisfied with the instructors. They are very patient with me and are well skilled. Was able to learn more about painting."
