About the Business
Welcome to Cancer Council Tasmania, located at 15 Princes Street in Sandy Bay, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, our institution offers a range of services to help those affected by cancer. By volunteering with Cancer Council Tasmania (CCT), you have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of fellow Tasmanians impacted by cancer.
We firmly believe that prevention is one of the most effective ways to create a cancer-free future. Every day, around ten Tasmanians receive a cancer diagnosis, making our work in Tasmania vital to the overall health of our community. As a charity, Cancer Council Tasmania is dedicated to minimizing the incidence and impact of cancer on all Tasmanians.
Our mission encompasses advocacy, raising awareness of cancer prevention, and offering support and information for anyone affected by this disease. We understand that cancer affects not only the individual diagnosed but also their loved ones. That's why we strive to provide comprehensive support services to help everyone navigate the challenges that cancer presents.
To achieve our goals, we rely on the generosity of the Tasmanian community and the support of our dedicated volunteers. The funds raised through our various fundraising activities are instrumental in sustaining our support services, prevention programs, and cancer research funding. We are proud to be registered with the Australian Taxation Office as an Income Tax Exempt Charity, which means that all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
At Cancer Council Tasmania, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. Whether you are looking for support, information, or wish to contribute as a volunteer, we invite you to join us in our mission to create a cancer-free future for all Tasmanians. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and provide hope to those facing the challenges of cancer.

"Supportive people who understand, listen and help in your time of need"
"I have lymphoma and I tried to get assistance for a bill and was refused. I have not recieved any assistance this year. These people are given and get a lot of money and they refuse to help me as a cancer patient. I wouldnt donate cos they seem to only help themselves."
"Such a wonderful service for people with cancer. They are there to help you with the rollercoaster ride that comes with such a diagnosis. Friendly and kind people are there to talk to. They really listen and understand with professional knowledge. They can help with financial problems that will arise along the journey and most of all they are there when you feel so alone. Thank you Cancer Council for all that you have done for me"
