"Great walk, great views, great ice cream!"
"Remembrance Nature Park, was named on the 11 November 1978 to commemorate the 60 th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice on the 11 November 1918. Remembrance Driveway starts from Sydney to Canberra along the length of the Hume and Federal Highways, a 320 kilometres of Plantations and Native Trees. The Great War of 1914-18, fostered a Great Community need to establish lasting Memorials to all those who served their Country. Nearly all cultures found ways of Remembering War and Honouring War Heroes. After the World War 2 Mrs. Margaret Davis MBE, the Founding President of the Garden Club of Australia, suggested plating a living Memorial of Trees to those Australians who served in World War 2, as Trees were seen as a Symbol and Hope for the Future. In 1954 the Royal come for the first time in Australia. Queen Elizabeth 2 (21 April 1926- 8 September 2022) Prince Philip (10 June 1921 - 9 April 2021) each planted a Plane Tree in Macquarie Place, Sydney to mark the start of the Driveway in 1954 and the Queen Elizabeth planted a Snow Gum near the Southern corner of Australian War Memorial to mark its end. Tree died in an drought in 1990s."
