Eddison Park 40 Launceston Street, Phillip, Australian Capital Territory 2606
About the Business
Welcome to Eddison Park, a renowned establishment and park located at 40 Launceston Street in Phillip, Australia. This park holds a special significance as it pays tribute to the Eddison brothers, who tragically lost their lives during World War II. Mrs. Pamela Yonge, their sister, was present at the emotional unveiling of the sign on Remembrance Day in 2012, alongside members of the Woden Valley RSL Sub-Branch.
To reach Eddison Park from Callam Offices, you can either walk under the offices and cross Easty Street, or turn right onto Launceston Street and then right into the park's car park. If you're coming from the Visitors Centre, simply head south over Commonwealth Bridge, take Capital Circle around Parliament House, and continue on this road for approximately 6 km. Veer left onto Yamba Drive, turn right into Launceston Street, and then left into the Eddison Park car park.
Covering an impressive 14 hectares, Eddison Park features a unique radial design and a central ornamental pond, creating distinct and tranquil spaces within the park. This park is also a significant site for local ANZAC memorial services. Two memorials stand as a poignant reminder of the sacrifice made by the three Eddison sons during World War II. The Eddisons were the original owners of the property of Yamba, which predates the development of Woden.
In addition to its historical significance, Eddison Park boasts a variety of natural elements. The park is home to several majestic Candlebark trees, remnants of the woodland that existed prior to European settlement in the area. These trees add a touch of natural beauty and serve as a reminder of the rich history of the land.
To cater to the recreational needs of visitors, Eddison Park offers a new multi-use recreation facility. This facility includes a state-of-the-art skate plaza, play equipment for children, and a performance area for various events and activities. Whether you're looking for a peaceful stroll, a place to reflect on history, or a spot to enjoy outdoor recreation, Eddison Park has something for everyone.
With its convenient location and diverse offerings, Eddison Park is a must-visit destination in Australia. It is just a 5-minute walk from Callam Offices and a 15-minute journey from the Visitors Centre. Come and explore the beauty, history, and recreational opportunities that Eddison Park has to offer.

"great place to observe eshays and stoners in their natural habitat. The constant smell of za-za wafting through the air is native to these grounds, and quite inviting."

"Very nice place to relax. Lots of shade and playground for kids as well."
"Came here today to watch some people perform tricks on their scooters... They are really good, you really should check 'em out some time. The people who come here also have a very kind personality and look out for one another, great if you know someone who is interested in skating/scootering and performing tricks."
