"This shop has been at this location for ever and I guess there is s reason why. Good selection of basic clothing, toys etc. I prefer it to other similar stores. Good prices."
"The place is great apart from one of the self service check out people who always seems to only ask teenagers to show their bag, even after they have paid for something. I understand that younger people tend to steal but it is unfair and rather annoying."
"I made a small purchase (darts) at Big W Woden at 12.01 today, Saturday 22 April. I was directed to the assisted checkout (Posn 6), put a Coles bag on the counter and went to pay for my purchase ($5). The young female sales assistant asked to check my bag. I gladly took the three items out - two of them were clearly marked with Repco branding, which I pointed out to the assistant, and the third was a can of 5.56 spray, which I advised Big W doesn't sell. Despite me being so cooperative by removing these items from my bag, the assistant then asked for my receipts. I dug through the bottom of the bag and luckily found the receipt, which she studied for quite some time. When I questioned whether she was going too far with the bag check, I just received a blank stare in return. I'm 70 years old and don't fit the profile of a shoplifter. Additionally, I voluntarily put my bag on the counter to be checked. I found the whole experience not just annoying, but embarrassing as other customers were in the line watching. Was this sales assistant instructed to check each item in a customer's bag and then ask for receipts? I hope not. I've never had a problem with allowing a check of my bag(s) but this is overstepping the privacy mark. Perhaps I should have sought clarification from a manager."
"BigW Woden ACT, Friday 21/4/23 at 11:36am. I had two items I went to the change rooms to try on and they weren't good fitting or style. I asked the lady at the counter there where I can put the no items as they weren't right for me, she looked at me and then loudly sighed at me as if I was being a difficult customer. This rude gesture from the staff left me feeling uncomfortable and unsettled for the rest of my day making me feel awful. I only asked the lady where I could put the clothes I didn't want to buy rather than just dumping them in the isles or wrong shelf. Most change rooms take back all items customers aren't getting so staff can put away in the correct area, it was almost like she expected me as the customer to do her job for her and then made me feel bad about it. I didn't get this staff members name but she was wearing a Homer Simpson, "Simpsons" black tshirt and had very short hair tied back with a mini stub out. She also wore a black face mask and this was at 11:36am in the Woden store. Her rudeness and lack of manners by sighing quite loudly and purposely in front of me is not what I expected to be on the end of receiving for doing absolutely nothing to deserve that behaviour."
"I wasn't there today but my 85 year old mother was. She went to purchase bed sheets that had a sale sign on them. At the register, she was told by the 60ish year old woman serving her that she couldn't have the sheets at the discounted price. I work in retail and that's a firm rule, if price tickets state a discounted price, that's what you get them for. She was very rude to my mother and better watch out if I come shopping there. A very rude lady. Im not happy!"
