"The location of this pharmacy was very convenient for me, but I've had more personable service elsewhere. It wasn't really horrible or anything, just a bit cold. I came to get a medical certificate as I took the day off work unwell and was surprised to have the nitty gritty details of my illness listed out on the document. I think this is a bit of a privacy issue as I wasn't given the opportunity to consent or decline. An employer doesn't have to know these details, just that I'm ill and that I won't be fit for work for X many days. I've never seen this detail included on a medical certificate before. The consult was also undertaken in the middle of the pharmacy over the top of the 'scripts-in' counter. Fortunately I didn't have to describe any embarrassing symptoms, but I wouldn't have been comfortable to give a straight answer in the middle of the shop floor!"
