Welcome to The Learning Nook Early Education and Childcare, located in the heart of Southport on Falconer Street. Housed in a charming Queenslander cottage, our daycare center provides a warm and inviting home-like environment for up to 24 children, ranging from 15 months to 6 years old.

At The Learning Nook, we believe in creating a sense of belonging for both families and children. Our semi-open plan interconnected rooms offer a cozy atmosphere where children can feel comfortable and secure. The unique design of our small boutique center allows for individualized attention and fosters a close-knit community.

One of the highlights of our center is the natural environment we have created. Our gardens are filled with fruit trees, herb gardens, and flower beds, attracting an abundance of wildlife. Careful planning and planting have enticed wild birds, mammals, reptiles, and insects to visit, providing endless opportunities for nature-inspired learning.

We have two distinct age groups at our center. The Banjilaann room is tailored for children aged 15 months to 3 years, with a maximum of 8 children per day. Our Southport Kindergarten group is for children aged 3 to 5 years, with a maximum of 16 children per day. These small open classrooms allow for personalized attention and support each child's learning and progress.

Our play-based curriculum encourages children to explore, inquire, and create, fostering a sense of belonging and connection to their world. We believe in a holistic approach to education, providing opportunities for children to develop their knowledge in all areas of learning, including Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Being active is an important aspect of our program, as it promotes healthy growth and development. Our outdoor playground is a stimulating and engaging environment where children can extend their indoor learning. They can dig, plant, and harvest in our gardens, run, jump, and swing in the yard, or quietly explore the enchanting nooks and crannies. True nature play is at the heart of our program, allowing children to learn from and respect the world around them.

Our center is also home to a range of fascinating animals, including fish and guinea pigs. Caring for these animals offers a unique learning opportunity for the children, teaching them responsibility and compassion.
