"Griffith University is a terrible place to live. Highly overpayed for what you get: their dorms don't have any equipment (pans, plates, towels, etc.) which makes it way more expensive to live there. They do not take into account if you want to be in a mixed dorm or not. They also don't care about the level of English or nationality. They put four people with one nationality with one of another. They try to keep your bond even when you have done nothing wrong. Prices are way higher than market rate. Location is not great. The people that work there are not helpful. Would not recommend."
"My mate lives here. I'm happy for him, the place is much nicer and cheaper than the University of Sydney Village equivalent. The pool and basketball court are nice bonus features, it's a fun place to hang out."
"DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to live like a proper human being. No oven, no air conditioning. The place is dirty when you walk in and then they expect you to clean it during their inspections. The kitchen is extremely small and 2 of my stove top heating elements didn’t work. The apartments look robotic and extremely cheap. They try their hardest to scam people out of their bond by claiming that your room wasn’t clean during their post contract inspection even though they do the inspection several weeks after you leave just for them to claim your place is dusty (my roommate was also still living there so his mess contributed to me losing my bond). The village is also decently loud on most days which makes studying frustrating at times. And , the village charges crazy prices ($297 a week for my 5 person apartment) for what you get considering you’re sharing 2 tiny bathrooms. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, please understand that this price is very overpriced compared to the other options around the area, they run a scam at this village. I wouldn’t pay more than $50 a week for this trash. Even the party life here was garbage. After the first couple of weeks the parties become half the size of normal pres and pres are less exciting than a museum. Anyone coming from a college/university in North America will probably be very disappointed. The only 3 positives I can give this place was the service at the front desk, the events the village ran, and the fact that utilities were included in rent."
"This is our five people apartment looks like, but I'm not sure if all the apartment are the same. I wouldn't say it's really good, buy for me it's still ok. The only thing that I couldn't accept is that there is no air-conditioned apartment. For the toilets, it has two in my apartment. One is combined with the shower, the other is separation. In your own room you'll get the basic stuff like chair, table, bed without the quilt or pillow, closet, a medium size bucket. For the location which it takes about 10-15 mins walk to the Tram station."
"This has been the worst living conditions I have ever had to endure, and I’ve stayed at a lot of not-great places. The campus is untidy and a lot of the times, broken or falling apart. Inside the apartment is tiny, for a 5 bedroom there was not enough space or even an oven. When I arrived it was absolutely filthy and the fridge was broken. I lived here for 12 months and I have nothing nice to say at all apart from meeting good friends. There were rowdy parties, smoking and drugs on campus 24/7 making it hard to study, sleep or even live with my asthma when there’s cigarette smoke wafting in my windows at night - the use of windows because there was no fan or aircon inside making summer a whole nightmare. Noise constantly after curfew. Not to mention parking is extremely overpriced. This whole place is one big rip off. For nearly $300 a week, it is absolutely pathetic. The “free” meals are either undercooked or overcooked with no flavour (due to home brand cheap supplies) that are barely a meal. Office staff were mostly helpful but constant fault and lack of communication making it almost impossible to action out anything. Twice, I had to go higher to V1 to get anything done. There is absolutely no way that the absurd amount of money they make a year gets replenished back into the facilities. If I could rate 0/5 I would. Save your money, time and sanity - rent nearby the uni and make friends in class instead."
