"Andrew’s (bald man) customer service is terrible at TAFE Southport. I felt so belittled and discriminated against after speaking to him that I had a complete breakdown at home. He spoke to me in a very condescending way and his tone was very very aggressive; I felt like I was being threatened and even after I tried to remove myself from the conversation because of how uncomfortable he made me, he continued to pursue me about my enquiry in an unprofessional manner like he was trying to exert his authority over me with his tone of voice increasingly raised. I feel sorry for anyone who has to interact with him and I also feel that this behaviour is completely unprofessional, particularly in a line of work where you are meant to be helping students to grow and equip them with the skills to succeed in their careers. It is absolutely unbecoming and unempathetic of this institute for this employee to be acting in such a way that makes students feel small for their personal and financial circumstances that are out of their control. Making other people feel ashamed of their circumstances while they are simultaneously paying the fees to go to TAFE is an insult to students and I strongly believe that this man would benefit from retraining or consider another career where customer service is not needed so that what happened to me doesn’t happen again to other people. Mentally, this has been traumatising as someone who has been a stay at home mum and wants to reenter the workforce and even months after the incident, it still remains fresh in my mind. Please, as a reminder to TAFE Southport, nobody knows what everyone else's personal circumstances are and no one should be judged for these things which are out of their control. I hope no one else is made to feel less than from this institution again."
"It was a nice place to be. Lots of amazing people pretty welcoming and happy to provide help to strangers."
"I ended up studying the Diploma of Nursing. When it came to residential school stage 2 there was a lack of communication in what to focus on in our stage 2 exam. I ended up leaving at the end of stage 2 because they chose to not give me placement. Therefore I could t finish stage 2 and wasted a whole year studying. They could not offer me other option as they had a new training package therefore I chose to go elsewhere. TAFE QUEENSLAND IS A WASTE IF MONEY THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY SUPPORT."
"Good campus, good educators. Parking can be a bit of a a pain, make sure you are a bit early. Public transport looks easily accessible"
