He has gained this expertise through extensive training and consultant positions in Brisbane, Perth, and overseas, including prestigious institutions such as Sullivan Nicolaides, St John of God Pathology, Royal Brisbane Hospital, St James Hospital Dublin, National Maternity Hospital (Dublin), and PathCentre WA.
While Dr Irving retains broad haematological knowledge, he has a special clinical interest in lymphoma, myelodysplasia, multiple myeloma, myeloproliferative neoplasms, and stem cell transplantation. He has actively participated in national and international committees and advisory boards focusing on haematological disorders, such as chronic myeloid leukaemia, myelofibrosis, myelodysplasia, lymphoma, and bone marrow transplantation.
Dr Irving is a passionate advocate for clinical trial research and actively participates in phase I/II and III multicentre clinical trials. In addition to his clinical skills, he possesses strong leadership qualities and has held senior administrative roles in haematology and cancer.
