Our Group Art Therapy sessions utilize the creative process to explore new thought processes and life's challenges. In a supportive and social environment, participants have the opportunity to discover themselves and form meaningful connections with others. Scientific evidence has shown that art and creative processes enhance brain function, impact emotions and the nervous system, and even raise serotonin levels. By combining art making and psychotherapy, Art Therapy enhances mental health and brain function.

Creating art maximizes wellbeing and quality of life for individuals of all abilities. It allows for the celebration of uniqueness and the exploration of creativity, emotions, and challenges. Art Therapy provides a format where words are not necessary, as emotions can be communicated through images, shapes, colors, and form. The freedom of creativity lies in the absence of right or wrong, with curiosity, imagination, and play being the driving forces.

For children and adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Creative Arts Therapy is a valuable tool in recognizing emotions and developing social skills. By incorporating the client's own unique special interests, we demonstrate positive behaviors in a safe and supportive environment. Creative Arts Therapy establishes connection, empathy, and community in individuals with ASD.

The goal of Art Therapy is to explore emotions and life's challenges within a safe, compassionate, and constructive environment using creative processes as a form of communication. It promotes self-awareness, boosts self-esteem, manages behaviors, enhances social skills, and develops problem-solving abilities for a brighter future filled with hope and optimism.

At Art Therapy Moreton Bay, we offer both individual sessions and Group Art Therapy sessions. Our all abilities group sessions include the Vision Impaired Art Access Group on Thursdays, the Social and Emotional Care Group on Mondays, the Young Adults Living with ASD Group, and the Memory and Recall Art Group. To book your individual Art Therapy session or to join one of our group sessions, please contact Michelle at 0417 469 678. We accept private clients and can also bill directly to NDIS for eligible clients with NDIS funding.
