"Had my first baby here 2 months ago and let me tell you about that old blonde lady In the reception area up in the wards I think level 7 or 8!! Her behaviour was absolutely putrid and I am someone of colour so I’m guessing she had an issue with that she disrespected my family as they were coming to visit my new baby and myself she yelled at them to get out only two at a time when she could have explained nicely she was also just plain rude to my husband when he was told he was t allowed to stay overnight even after my c section I really wanted him to stay I was going through a roller coaster of emotions and she just made it worse. Other than that other nurses and doctors really took good care of me and my child but I wouldn’t go back after them not letting my husband stay it was a very traumatic first birthing experience I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through this."

"I had a terrible experience with the delivery of my baby number 1. Some of the midwife are amazing but other they need to be fired ! I had an emergency c section , couldn’t move and this midwife gave me the baby saying “you need to feed her” and left. I didn’t know how and baby start to cry plus I was in a share “room” maybe just the space for the bed all my stuff on the floor cause was really small and claustrophobic and couldn’t rest at all cause of all the noises. When I was desperate one of the midwife, an angel, she moved me in a single room and was much better. Also regarding the delivery some of them told me I was dilated 7 cm some other 3cm… was very stressful and I don’t think I will have another baby but if I do definitely not Mater. I’m really sorry to say that cause some of the people are really really good and the surgery was amazing but unfortunately for all the rest I give one star."

"The Mater Mother’s Ultrasound for Women Reception staff was very rude and dismissive. We got lost and went to the other ultrasound area was running few minutes late. We did apologise and informed them that hubby still has work after. All 5 patients that came after us went in first and feels like they have put our appointment at the very back! Few minutes late is a set-back of nearly an hour! When I asked for an estimate wait time the receptionist rolled her eyes and wouldn’t even let me finish and said “you are few minutes late”. Hubby is already late for work and paid a lot for car park too."

"I came in to give birth as a non private patient, gave birthat around 10pm. I was in hard labour, gave birth within an hour or 2 after arriving. There is a little doorway to some benches at emergency entrance, which was completely empty. I thought I'd go in there so I could endure my labour but I was reprimanded and removed as I was not a rich private paying patient. Even though NOT ONE person was utilising this so called rich women's loungeroom, no middle class people were allowed to use it. I was shoved into a room after I had my baby, that had no blinds and was literally facing all the doctors offices (I could see them writing notes) and literally had rubbish in it, i was shoved in a tiny room like they literally just cleared a space for me. the nurse handled my baby so roughly that I had to intervene. This hospital is disgusting. And so are the staff. Highly would NOT recommend."

"We recently had our first baby at Mater Mother’s Private Hospital and the whole process, start to finish, was invaluable. We had the most beautiful midwife who was very supportive the whole way through my labour. The care and support only got better. We stayed for 3 nights in a private suite. From the delicious meals, to the ongoing breast feeding support, the friendly check ins from the nurses, the on call support at any hour of the night and day, everything was just effortless. As this was my first baby, I had so many questions, concerns and worries leading into my birth, but they were all very quickly answers and reassured. I would highly recommend Mater Mothers Private if you’re looking for a supportive and reliable experience. We will definitely be going back for baby number 2."
