At Horses Helping Humans-Moreton Bay Region, we firmly believe in the importance of respect and trust in communication. Our Certified Facility and Registered Charity, Herd Together Inc, is committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where intimidation and fear have no place. We are proud to be the only center in the Moreton Bay area to incorporate the award-winning Horses Helping Humans communications Life Skills program and Horse Powered Reading.

Through our horse whispering sessions, both individually or in workshops, participants have the opportunity to engage with our horses and ponies in on-the-ground activities. These sessions, which do not involve riding, have been proven to foster motivation, confidence, critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills. Additionally, they can help individuals overcome challenges such as depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, and educational difficulties.

Horses are incredibly perceptive creatures with their own personalities, attitudes, fears, and moods. They are highly sensitive to the energy around them and respond accordingly to human interaction. This allows learners to experience a sense of connection and participation without the negative feelings often associated with traditional counseling methods. By recognizing the shared desire for trust and connection between horses and humans, individuals can form uplifting and inspiring connections that teach them about themselves and their interactions with others.

Our services primarily cater to youth who have been referred to us by psychologists and other youth and family welfare services. This referral process ensures that all participants in our program are in genuine need of support due to factors such as a family history of domestic violence, low socio-economic conditions, or mental health issues. We proudly serve the Moreton Bay Region and North Brisbane areas.

In addition to our program offerings, Katrina, our experienced facilitator, is available to speak to work-teams or school-groups about the principles of natural horsemanship. She can enlighten audiences on how these principles can help humans learn to communicate with calm assertiveness, trust, and respect.

Our facility is located on 8 idyllic acres in Bellmere, Queensland, just north of Brisbane. With private and serene surroundings, our property offers bathroom amenities and flat access areas for wheelchair users. Visitors can also enjoy the sight of kangaroos lounging in the front yard and the sounds of various bird species. Our horses graze in a natural habitat, creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
