About the Business
Welcome to Red Cedar Park, a stunning establishment located in Queensland, Somerset Regional, Dundas. As a park and point of interest, Red Cedar Park is a must-visit tourist attraction in Australia.
D'Aguilar National Park, which is right on Brisbane's doorstep, serves as a great source of inspiration for outdoor enthusiasts and families looking for a memorable camping experience. This national park is known for its diverse environments and plant communities, offering visitors the opportunity to explore open eucalypt woodlands, scribbly gum forests, and lush subtropical rainforests. With over 800 plant species, including rare and threatened ones, the park is a botanical wonderland.
The cool mountain tops and forest flats of D'Aguilar National Park provide a rich and varied habitat for wildlife. The mountain climate creates an ideal environment for ferns and mosses, while the mountain streams are home to giant barred frogs and spiny crayfish. At night, the tall open forest comes alive with the activities of yellow-bellied gliders and short-eared possums. Birdwatchers will be delighted by the presence of bowerbirds, wompoo fruit-doves, bell miners, and yellow-tailed black-cockatoos.
For an up-close encounter with native animals, make sure to visit Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre within the park. This complex features a visitor information center, wedding center, cafe, and Wildlife Centre, where you can marvel at the incredible wildlife that calls the area home.
To ensure the preservation of the D'Aguilar Range and its wildlife, it is important to follow the guidelines provided by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS). These guidelines include practicing proper sanitation and hygiene in areas where no toilets are provided and avoiding the pollution of natural water supplies.
Red Cedar Park is managed by QPWS under the Nature Conservation Act 1992, with the aim of preserving and presenting the park's remarkable natural and cultural values for future generations. Part of the park has been designated as a special management area for foliage harvesting activities until 2024, ensuring the careful monitoring of natural and cultural values.
If you need tourism information or assistance, the Brisbane Visitor Information and Booking Centre is available to help. Additionally, the Brisbane City Council can provide information about Mt Coot-tha Forest, and Seqwater can provide updates on permitted recreational activities and safety notices for nearby lakes and reservoirs.
By visiting Red Cedar Park, you are not only immersing yourself in the beauty of nature but also contributing to the important work being done to protect and grow Queensland's protected area system. The Department of Environment and Science acknowledges and respects the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land, the Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Come and explore Red Cedar Park, where nature's wonders await you in the heart of Queensland.

"Great place to stop rest and unwind, lots of open space for pets to run around"
"This is a nice quite place for a picnic. We had the whole place to ourselves on a Sunday at lunch. Toilets and shade with table and chairs. The serenity"
"Great spot for a family picnic in a tranquil setting. Totally recommend dropping in here on your way up to My Glorious."
"Perfect place for having party, picking etc. this place is super save for kids to walk around and not worry about them. Public toilet couple meters away, rain water tank with a tap next to the shade for you to external use only, plenty of car park. You can make fire on designated areas for cooking purposes. Walk through the grass approximately 60 meters you will find a small river coming from the falls of the mountain, itβs perfectly safe for kids but definitely need to be with parents. There is only one thing missing here if the council consider it, this place need a rubbish and recycle bins otherwise everything here been setup perfectly. Have been here twice and will definitely we will keep coming again"
