Monash Health - Clayton Immunisation Clayton, Victoria 3168
About the Business
Welcome to Monash Health - Clayton Immunisation! Located in the City of Monash, Victoria, our institution is a leading healthcare provider in Australia. We specialize in offering a high-risk immunisation service, which is the first of its kind in the country. Our goal is to protect the highest risk Victorians from vaccine preventable diseases.
At Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, we administer over 10,000 immunisations each year to both children and adults who are at high risk of contracting these diseases or experiencing complications. This groundbreaking initiative is made possible through funding from the Department of Health and Human Services Victoria.
Our patients include pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals of all ages with chronic health conditions. We also cater to specific patient groups such as dialysis patients, spina bifida patients, and individuals with cardiac and respiratory conditions. Additionally, we provide immunisation services to immunosuppressed adult patients and those awaiting organ transplants.
We offer antenatal immunisation to protect pregnant women and their babies. This includes influenza vaccination during pregnancy and our antenatal pertussis (whooping cough) program, which continues to grow in popularity.
Our team of nurse immunisers is highly skilled in providing advice and administering vaccinations. We also have paediatric and adult immunisation physicians who offer expert advice and work closely with medical and surgical specialties.
For patients with complex immunisation needs, we have specialist adult and paediatric clinics available. These clinics cater to individuals who require additional care and attention. Our paediatricians trained in travel medicine also provide consultations in BCG clinics for those at an increased risk of exposure to tuberculosis.
If you and your family are already at Monash Children's Hospital for other appointments, we also have a drop-in clinic specifically for vaccinations. However, please note that immunisation of healthy children who are not otherwise receiving care at Monash Health is not our target priority. Additionally, we vaccinate several hundred inpatients each year.
We work closely with various hospital departments, the Department of Health and Human Services Victoria, the Royal Children's Hospital Immunisation Service, and SAEFVIC (Surveillance of Adverse Events Following Vaccination), the Victorian Immunisation Safety Service. Our institution is also part of SmartVAX, a nationwide collaboration that ensures the safety of vaccines by documenting any potential vaccine reactions through SMS communication.
Monash Immunisation operates from 8:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Our Nurse Unit Manager, Joanne Hickman, heads our dedicated team.
Most importantly, you do not need a referral from a GP or any other doctor to receive a vaccination at our facility. We aim to provide accessible and efficient healthcare services to all individuals in need.
Monash Children's Hospital, where our immunisation service is based, has been caring for children for over 100 years. It is one of Australia's leading children's hospitals and is part of Monash Health, Victoria's largest public health service. We are proud to be a part of this esteemed institution and provide top-quality healthcare to children and their families.
Whether you require immunisation for yourself or your loved ones, we are here to meet your healthcare needs. Visit Monash Health - Clayton Immunisation today and let us take care of your immunisation requirements.

"Great service. Sera was amazing today so are everyone else in immunisation clinic ! If I cam give more stars, yea they deserve all of it"
"Today second time, i went to immunization department in Clayton for my daughter's immunization. They have very very poor service. Last time i waited nearly 3 hours to get BCG injection and this time, i waited 2 hours and 35 minutes and they only served only 2 patients in that time. is this because no accountability for job or lazy people got jobs? 5 people inside including 2 receptionist and 2 nurses and Dr , they only seen 3 people including me in that time. how shameful is that? one person can do this job better in that time why we need 5 people? i will never go back there. thank you"
