"I was operated on last Friday 14/7/23 - was supposed to be day surgery only - but the doctors decided to keep me in for observation. Best decision ever made as the care and attention of the nurses, Doctors and hospital staff was first class. I have stayed here several times and each time the attention, the food and the service has always been first class - WPH is definitely the hospital of my choice."

"I stayed here Thursday night after surgery and I must how lovely all the nurses were that took care of me, Faye, James and Frankie( I think that was her name). Also the nice ladies who delivered my 3 meals and the lovely friendly lady downstairs in admissions who greeted me when I came in.What kind and caring staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. "Although nurses and triage staff are absolutely lovely I had a terrible experience, everyone is rushed and cannot give their best care under so much pressure! Walking into the operating room the bed was not ready, after the operation I waited 4 hours to be put on a drip and given anti nausea medication to help with a bad reaction to anaesthetic. No nurse in recovery knew how to take a blood test, my doctor requested a bed on the ward but instead I sat in a recliner from early morning until 6pm I found my underwear shoved into my shoe after my operation! This was not my first operation and I have never had an experience like this before at other hospitals. I understand the hospital system is struggling but you need nurses with more experience! Thank Goodness for One nurse in recovery who knew exactly what to do when her shift started at 3pm and was surprised herself that I had been left so long!"

"If I could give this hospital zero stars I would. Please consider your opinions if you’re a private patient, do not go to this hospital. My mum was a recent patient. All was well until the nursing staff found out she was transferring to a rehab facility post-op. They tried to convince her to do rehab at Western Private (for their own wallets) which she appropriately refused since she needs to go to a rehab facility. As soon as the nursing stuff found out she was doing rehab somewhere else, the vast majority of the nursing stuff (acting like nasty high school bullies) ignored my mum and did not want to assist her. They made her feel immensely uncomfortable and she would call me daily in tears due to the well below mediocre treatment she received from the extremely unprofessional nursing staff. It was revealed to my mum by a friendly nurse that they were instructed by the head nurse to ignore her. I’m extremely disgusted with the attitude of your staff. I’m not sure why you would enter the profession if you’re going to treat people in such a way. The nursing staff who acted such a way during her stay should be ashamed and I can only imagine the amount of other patients they have treated this way. If you have an upcoming surgery, I urge you to consider your options and find a better hospital with attentive, empathetic and professional staff, unlike Western Private."
