"Up until today I had neglected dental visits for several years. Reasons were a fear dentists and a fear for my bank account. I knew very well that one of my teeth that was cracked and needed to come out but I had avoided for as long as possible until my boyfriend encouraged me to go see Robert, the dentist he and his family have been seeing since he was a kid. Robert had a very calming approach and I feel he could tell I was nervous which I appreciated. Him and the dental staff could not have been nicer. There was no judgement for not seeing a dentist, just a clear analysis and a very clear explanation of what was going on in my mouth. I don’t remember a dentist ever educating about my teeth so well. As I anticipated, the problem tooth needed to be pulled. I had only booked in for a check up appointment yet Robert was still willing to go over time to fix this on the spot. Despite this being an uncomfortable thing for anyone to have to go through, Robert & his team did so as gently and considerately as possible whilst regularly checking in to see if I was ok throughout the whole process. I am heading back next week for some fillings etc and then will be back for regular 6 month check ups! As for the bank account- well I had no real idea what I was in for but I prepared myself for having to spend thousands. Ultimately I was pleasantly surprised with the total. Had I left this much longer, it probably would’ve been more around the price I’d feared. If you are like me and putting a trip to the dentist off, definitely go and see Robert! You will feel a big weight off your shoulders knowing you’ve dealt with the problem :)"

"I was recommended to this dentist but had to have 9 teeth out, and wanted them all done at once (for cost and time off) I cant even tell you how nervous I was about having this done - would he even do this - I procrastinated for so long. When I finally did go see Robert I was SO SO surprised, he was kind and gentle and totally got my trepidation, he arranged costs to suit me as he knew I was paying for it all privately and fully supported getting all 9 teeth out at once - which he did in UNDER 40 minutes (even though he allocated 2 hours in case I needed a break) but there was NO shoving or "cracking" like I feared, just gentle and efficient speedy work with care and understanding. I seriously cant recommend this dentist highly enough - he is AWESOME and a wonderful, sweet, kind man who cares about his patients from the dental work he will do to how the patient can pay - You WILL NOT regret seeing Robert Targett HE IS THE BEST - and his assistance are also lovely and know just when you need them to hold your hand cause your a bit nervous LOVE YOU GUYS!!!"

"After my first appointment I swore never to return. this man has no patient manner and yes, his attitude is very condescending. I thought that I would give him the benefit of a second chance. So back I went. I am 63 years old and have seen many dentist in my time. He appeared to be quite pleasant and somewhat understanding. Maybe he read some of the reviews? Maybe he just does not give a damn. He is conveniently located in my area."

"While I have no issue with dentist ability, I found his attitude to be very poor. Rude and condescending. Would not recommend for children. Made for an unpleasant experience and that was just a 7 year olds check up and clean!"

"My experience at Dr Targett's practice was very disappointing, as I found his manner not to be child-friendly. He raised his voice enough to reduce one daughter to tears, and both children begging not to have to go back - and yet these same children have been praised by other dentists for their fortitude. My advice would be not to take children there."
