Welcome to the Union Hotel Newtown, located at 576 King Street. Our establishment is a bar, restaurant, and point of interest all rolled into one. With our convenient operating hours, we are open Monday to Thursday from 10am to 11pm, Friday to Saturday from 10am to 1am, and Sunday from 10am to 10pm. On Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, we close at 10pm, while on Wednesdays to Saturdays, we stay open until midnight.

At the Union Hotel, we cater to both adults and families. If you are visiting with children, we kindly request that you book a spot in our back bar, as our front bar is exclusively for grown-ups. We have recently transformed our venue to showcase a world-class back bar and restaurant, while still maintaining the unique and homely character that the pub has always been known for.

Our front bar is perfect for groups, featuring large bench seats where you can enjoy a game of pool, watch sports on our plasma screens, or listen to live and local music. In contrast, our light-filled back area offers a more sophisticated and relaxed dining experience. With cocktail lounges and heated courtyards, this space is ideal for intimate dinners, business lunches, or even a family feast.

When it comes to food, our eatery, Big Arties, offers great value pub fare that caters to everyone's taste. Our menu features a fine balance of meat-heavy meals, fresh salads, and delicious vegetarian options. Drawing inspiration from the great diners of Chicago and New York, we serve a variety of Australian and American themed sandwiches and burgers. We are constantly evolving our menu and appreciate any feedback or suggestions you may have.

One of our highlights is our amazing selection of beers. The Union Hotel boasts an impressive 22 taps, with a rotating list that includes every beer on and off the spectrum. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are always happy to guide you through the world of craft beer. In fact, in 2015 alone, we had over 300 different brews on tap. If gin is more your style, we also have an extensive list of 24 gins, dominated by Australian distillers. Additionally, we offer 35 whiskies for those who prefer a different spirit.

As a hub for craft beer enthusiasts, the Union Hotel is well-known for hosting beer parties and events. From Sydney Beer Week to monthly tap takeovers featuring rare and beautiful brews from all over Australia and the world, we are always celebrating the art of beer.
