"It looks like the reviews for this place are all over the place, depending on the time of the order and whether you understand Middle Eastern street food. I have been looking for a proper shawarma in Melbourne for a long time and finally found it. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma ($16), which traditionally comes with pickles, lettuce, tomato, toum (garlic sauce) & pomegranate molasses. This is how Shawarma is made back home, that's what they serve, and I loved it! My colleague also tried the Falafel Wrap ($12), served with lettuce, parsley, tomato, mint, pickles & tahini, and she loved it! I sampled it and told her this is how it's done, unlike the fake Falafel sandwiches made in the city. My few experiences with this service have been very positive. It is quick and efficient. Although the price is steep, the portion is perfect. It's better than many sandwiches you can find in the food court (which is sadly where this place is)."
"Bought a lamb shawarma wrap and drink for lunch. Excellent service - prompt and friendly - but the food was really disappointing, and expensive for what it was (a fairly thin wrap for $16 and a 350mL Coke for $4.80). I'm not a fussy eater - I love strong and spicy flavours - but there was so much onion in the wrap that I couldn't taste anything else, and still taste onions some time afterwards. Atmosphere is poor but not at all their fault - when you're tucked away in the corner of a soulless food court it's hard to have a good vibe. The place was well-presented and spotlessly clean though."
"Chicken shawarma wrap was dry, barely any sauce, lean on fillings and somewhat bland. Underwhelming and too expensive at $16. Hardly any customers for an otherwise busy food court."
"I was hoping it would be better but it's OK. For $18 the meat portion isn't much, the taste is ok at best and the whole thing was out together as you can see in the photo."
"We ordered two shish chicken plater and one chicken shawarma. The chicken shawarma was the worst i have ever tasted in my LIFE. The chicken in it was really bland, there were next to no sause and was full of just salad. I actually had salad/some pickles and bread with minimum chicken. Costed me 16 aud. Not worth the money. My friends ordered the shish chicken. It said in the menu that it would have 2 skewers. It actually had one wooden skewer cut in half to make 2. The meat was literally just 4 pieces of very small chicken pieces, salad and half bread and some hummus which was also not good in taste. Like who messes up hummus. It costed 17 aud. After my horrible lunch i went into woolworths to get myself a egg sandwich to fill my belly with something and trust me the 6 aud woolworth egg sandwich was alot better that the food served at tahini. DONT GO. I CERTAINLY WILL NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN."
