About the Business
Welcome to Olinda Playspace, a vibrant and exciting establishment located at Olinda-Monbulk Road, 75-77 in the beautiful country of Australia. As a point of interest in the region, we offer a range of services and opportunities for both locals and visitors to enjoy.
At Olinda Playspace, we believe in fostering a sense of community and providing valuable resources to enhance the lives of our residents. We understand the importance of waste management and offer information on waste collection days and guidelines for what can be put out for collection. Additionally, we encourage feedback and ideas from the community to help shape the future of Yarra Ranges.
If you're interested in art and culture, be sure to visit the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum, where the National Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition is currently on display until September 3, 2023. Admission is free, and it's a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of photography.
For those in need of technical support, our local Eastern Regional Library offers one-on-one sessions with a Tech Support Officer. With flexible scheduling options, you can book a 45-minute session at your convenience.
Yarra Ranges is also actively participating in the iNaturalist challenge, competing with other Melbourne councils to contribute the most species during September. Join us in documenting and preserving the biodiversity of our region.
We understand that infrastructure and maintenance issues can arise, which is why we provide a platform to report blocked or damaged drains, water runoff, and other drainage concerns. Additionally, if you experience a missed garbage, recycling, or garden organics collection, we encourage you to report it, and we'll address the issue promptly.
Engaging with the council is essential, and we offer various avenues for communication. Whether you want to make a submission, ask a question, or lodge a petition, we provide guidance on how to effectively communicate with the council.
In line with our commitment to sustainability, we're excited to introduce the Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) collection. Starting from October 2, 2023, your FOGO bin will be collected weekly, allowing us to transform garden clippings and food scraps into compost, reducing harmful greenhouse gases.
As part of our ongoing initiatives, we're implementing bin delivery and lid changes between July and September, with FOGO collection commencing on October 2, 2023. These changes aim to streamline waste management and promote a greener future.
We also encourage you to learn about the waste charges service that appears on your rates notice, understanding how it contributes to waste management and related services.
Stay tuned for the official opening of Mooroolbark's new Community Garden on September 2, as it takes shape and becomes a hub for residents to connect with nature and each other.
We value community input, and we're seeking feedback on how to repurpose the underutilized space at Belgrave Tennis Club for greater community use. Your ideas and suggestions are crucial in shaping the future of this space.
Similarly, we're looking for community input to develop a draft Masterplan for the Upwey town centre. Your feedback will help guide future improvements and ensure the town centre reflects the needs and desires of its residents.
We're proud to announce that Yarra Ranges Council's Climate Action Team has been named as finalists in two award categories in the 2023 Cities Power Partnership Climate Awards. This recognition highlights our commitment to addressing climate change and creating a sustainable future for our region.
Yarra Ranges Council is dedicated to delivering a world-class visitor experience that connects you with the food, wine, culture, and scenery of the Yarra. Explore the 39-kilometer walking track through the picturesque Dandenong Ranges and immerse yourself in the beauty of our region.

"I have heard about this playground and finally taken my grandson today. It’s fantastic with many things for kids to play on, swings, slides, flying fox, mini trampolines, water play, mini roundabout ride and sandpits."
"The views and surroundings are spectacular! Suits a variety of ages from toddler to early primary. Spacious play area so it doesn't feel overcrowded even when there are many families out here on the weekend. Great surrounding walking trail and open green space for the kids/dogs to run around. The air is so fresh here, it's fantastic. The coffee caravan at the front entrance is perfect. Good coffee & pastries, best way to start the morning!"
"A must visit for children from toddlers to young teens in Dandenong ranges. The playground is well built and offers a wide range of equipment. There is a covered BBQ area and toiles. Sandpits have water play. Flying fox is always popular and and the obstacles set is great fun."
"Very decent size playground with a variety of equipment that would entertain kids from toddler age to about middle high school I would say. Clean and beautiful area with toilet nearby. Decent space for BBQ and picnics."
"Really amazing space with lots of things for the kids to do. There is a water play area, sandpit, slides, balancing/climbing area, trampolines, play house and of course, swings. The ground is also very well padded. There is plenty of shade and I counted 8 picnic tables. There is also tonnes of space to put down a picnic blanket or fold up tables and there are public bathrooms available! For kids that want to kick a ball around, there is an oval nearby as well. Such an awesome spot!!"
