About the Business
Welcome to the Frankston North Community Centre, located in the heart of Frankston North on Mahogany Avenue. As a Council run facility, we are dedicated to providing programs and activities that are community led and facilitated. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging, curiosity, skills development, and overall health and wellbeing for all.
At the Frankston North Community Centre, we work closely with various agencies, groups, and organizations to create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels included. We have a range of spaces available for hire, so whether you're planning a community event or need a venue for a special occasion, we have you covered. Be sure to check out our venue hire forms for more information.
Our community programs and activities are designed to recognize the interests, skills, and talents of our local community, with the aim of fostering friendships, joy, and a sense of belonging. We encourage local community members to join our Introduction to Hospitality program. This course is suitable for anyone interested in hospitality and provides hands-on training in food preparation, food and beverage service, and customer service. You will have the opportunity to learn within a well-established community café, guided by professional trainers.
If you're looking to focus on your personal and professional development, our "Get Ready" program is perfect for you. Over the course of six weeks, we will engage in discussions, reflections, and provide strategies to inspire and help you achieve your goals. Whether you're seeking employment, education, or volunteering opportunities, "Get Ready" will provide you with the tools and support you need.
Additionally, we offer a special style and dressing session with Groomed to Go, helping you prepare for new ventures or a fresh start after a break from employment. In a caring and supportive environment, you will identify your strengths, skills, barriers, and boundaries.
Volunteering is a central part of our program, and we have a warm, welcoming, and friendly volunteering team. The benefits of volunteering are enormous, not only for the local community but also for you. We believe in matching your skills, talents, and interests to build on the great projects and programs run at the centre. Volunteering can help you find friends, reach out to the community, learn new skills, and potentially open doors to new learning and employment opportunities.
The Frankston North Community Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and our Community Café is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am to 1pm.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners of this land, the Bunurong people. We honor all Aboriginal community Elders, past and present, who have resided in the area and played an integral part in the history of the region.
Come and experience the welcoming atmosphere of the Frankston North Community Centre. We look forward to seeing you soon!
