About the Business
Welcome to the Learning Centre – CERES Community Environment Park, located in Brunswick East, Lee Street, Australia. As a public park, we invite you to visit and explore our green spaces, vibrant community, and diverse enterprises.
At CERES, we are committed to providing opportunities for discovery and learning for people of all ages and abilities. With over 1 million students already benefiting from our programs, we have become a leading environmental education centre. Our mission is to help individuals care for the Earth and inspire a love for our planet.
By becoming a member of CERES, you join a community of like-minded individuals who share a deep passion for each other and the Earth. As an environmental education centre, community garden, urban farm, and social enterprise hub, CERES spans across four locations, all connected by the beautiful Merri and Darebin Creeks on Wurundjeri Country in Melbourne.
Since our establishment in 1982, CERES has grown into a multifaceted institution. In addition to our education centre, we offer an online grocery, nursery, bookstore, urban farms, ethical wood merchant, and various other sustainable initiatives. Our vision is for people to fall in love with the Earth again, and we strive to make this a reality through our diverse offerings.
Supporting the CERES EOFY (End of Financial Year) Appeal means supporting the place you love and ensuring its continued existence in your backyard. We are proud to supply farm-forested, sustainable timber and firewood through CERES Fair Wood. Additionally, our two-acre organic farm, CERES Joe's Market Garden, along the Merri Creek in Coburg, showcases our commitment to sustainable agriculture.
Our education programs, which are available at CERES, schools, and online, are specifically designed to address the pressing issues of the climate and ecological crisis. We believe that education is key to creating a sustainable future.
At CERES, our chickens are beloved members of our community. Meet Cheeky, Heidi, and Helen, three of our famous hens. Although they may look similar, each of these chooks has a distinct personality that adds to the charm of CERES.
Volunteers play a vital role in the CERES community, and we invite everyone to lend a hand in our shared vision of falling in love with the Earth again. Join us at our location on Corner Roberts & Stewart Streets in Brunswick East, VIC 3057, or contact us at ( 61) 3 9389 0100 or [email protected].
CERES proudly acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people of the Kulin nation as the traditional owners of the land on which CERES stands. We are deeply grateful to the Elders, both past and present, for their longstanding care and protection of these lands.
Join us at CERES Community Environment Park and discover a place where nature, community, and learning come together to create a sustainable future for all.
