"I'm a Sydney transplant who's been living in the Central Coast for 15-odd years, working for one of the largest employers in the region. I was recently honoured with a service award, but as of Tuesday at 4pm, all my suits from yesteryear didn't fit. I rushed in to Peter Jackson Menswear at approximately 5pm on a Tuesday, knowing that they were only open for another half hour. Ryan McDermott greeted me with the patience and grace of a saint. I had no plan. No idea of what I wanted, what look I was going for. The man fitted me with a good looking suit and shirt in 10 minutes flat. I showed it to my wife that night and she thought it was gangbusters. Ryan did ask me whether I needed any shoes to go with the suit, and I was sure I had that covered. I didn't. So I showed up on Wednesday morning at 9am, needing black shoes to match the suit, with exactly 15 minutes to do so. To cut the story short, I showed up to the event at Mosman, 1 hour, 20 minutes away, looking dapper and feeling confident. The irony? I received an award for maintaining professionalism and calm under pressure, the exact attributes Ryan exemplified. The attached image was the one I sent, asking my wife if I looked alright.
