"I used to love this place. I feel it has gotten sloppy. We enjoyed some dishes such as pork dumplings and green onion pancakes, but also really disliked a cashew chicken which was full of gristle and frozen vegetables. The fried rice had no seasoning. The place itself is starting to look rundown and dirty."
"It seems everyone in my family had been to Lilong but me. So l finally went there. A great restaurant tucked away on the roof of Westfield Hurstville. I can only be guided by the smiles and by the looks of the other diners they were really enjoying their food. My daughter and l shared the pork dumplings for entree (which arrived after our main course arrived...but this is "normal") which were delicious. The daughter had a prawn noodle dish that was very good and l had the traditional kung pao chicken. Well the kung pao was amazing...easily the best l have had in the past 5 years. Service was fantastic and the meal was a very reasonable price. Overall you would literally doing yourself a favour going there. Very Recommended."
"Came for Friday night dinner with my partner. We are big fans of taste of Shanghai in burwood and their darling square store. Unfortunately, the hurstville store was abit disappointing. We did enjoy the pan fried pork buns and the fried pork ribs. However the stir fried noodles were extremely oily and very bland and the chilli oil wontons were not very tasty and not enjoyable to eat. It was a full house and service was slow and could be organised better. I also watched uber drivers come to collect orders and have to wander around trying to track down staff. Overall not bad but there are definitely more affordable and better Chinese food joints around."
"We went to Lilong in Hurstville and the taste of the food is amazing. We like our food a bit spicy and the selection there is great. We had: Sticky Rice Dumplings dipped in a Soy / Black Vinegar sauce with a bit of extra Chili which taste great. Then Steamed Pork Buns (same sauce) again great taste. Pork and Chive dumplings (same sauce) goes really well. Chili Beef in hot wok is an all time classic and very tasty. The Shanghai Turnip Croissant was not my favorite taste but my company liked those. The pan fried Pork buns are very nice but you have to be careful as they are piping hot. Better let those cool down first and bite carefully as they are filled with sauce which goes everywhere when you are not careful ;-). The spicy sliced pork belly with mushrooms is just divine and so yummy you want to order a second portion straight away. At last we had the Ma Po Tofu and I usually don't like Tofu but this one is fantastic nicely spiced and mixed with pork mince. The restaurant is wheelchair friendly as they can just move chairs around if required. Better make a booking on the weekend in the evening as it can get pretty full there. This food is more for people who love a more authentic taste, not the Europeans version of Chinese food which usually is less spicy and includes more sugar. We ordered the above listed items for 3 people and it was just the right amount for everyone to be full (any more and we would have needed doggy bags)."
"I tried the pan fried pork buns which were not the absolute best I've had but still pretty good. The pastry was a little inconsistent with the sides being thin but the top was really thick. The amount of soup was also inconsistent between the buns (though that's quite common), but the filing was otherwise still juicy and overall delicious. The lemon grass pork chop had decent flavour, but was a little dry and would have been better if it was juicier. Serving sizes are quite decent, and you can order delivery like I did and it travels reasonably well."
