At Blue Lagoon Timbers, we have always prioritized using sustainably sourced timber and products. We understand the importance of protecting and managing forests, both new and native, for the sake of the planet, environment, and industry. Therefore, we have made a commitment to base our commercial activities on well-managed and sustainable forests, ensuring our responsibility to the environment, customers, suppliers, and staff.

We are excited to announce that we now distribute sustainably sourced native timber from the forests of far north Queensland. Through the Branch 95 project, we not only manage a vast area of native timber but also create job opportunities for the indigenous people of this ancient woodland. Selective thinning of older trees helps promote regrowth in the undergrowth, benefiting forest floor plants and animals, while also increasing CO2 and Carbon capture uptake into younger trees. This project is a win-win-win for the environment, carbon capture, local indigenous people, and the timber industry.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we ensure that all timber is purchased from legal sources and seek evidence of compliance from suppliers. We strongly condemn illegal logging practices and stay informed about international legislation. When assessing suppliers, we prioritize evidence of sustainable forest management and prefer to purchase certified material whenever possible. If we discover materials from illegal sources, we take immediate action, including ceasing purchasing from such sources.

Blue Lagoon Timbers is proud to be associated with various projects, such as Project 9 Duncan Street Maroubra, where Perma Timber was installed and built by Ontop Building and Project Management, with supplies from Blue Lagoon Timbers. We also supplied PermaStruct FRP joists and Permatimber decking materials for a project at the University of Sydney, installed by 4Fold Building Services. The total decking used in this project was approximately 5.1 kilometers of material!
