Reviews
"The BBQ here is fantastic - you get an excellent amount of tasty food for the price. It is pager service, so you have to collect your meals and drinks yourself. But the team is on the ball and do a great job keeping the place clean and getting the orders out. The restaurant is located on top of the Hillside Hotel, so some there is some noise carry over from the bar below, and the seating is a bit Spartan. But it doesn't detract from the quality of the food."
"An incidental finding for lunch. Our intentions were to have some lunch at Hillside at the Bistro and whilst that has pleased us before...we could smell the aroma of some amazing meat cooking nearby. We walked up the stairs only to find this fantastic spot for lunch. We order a drink and waited patiently for our plates of slow cooked smoked meat. It did not disappoint. I personally had the pulled pork plate. The plate was full and enough for a lunch for sure. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great with the sun shining through onto the verandah on this brisk winter day"
"We went for an anniversary and were presented with a card and a free house beer or wine in arrival! Such a beautiful touch! The cheeseburger (add another patty! ) Is amazing! And the brisket and pulled pork on the mixed plate are amazing."
"Brad and the team at Fire and Brimstone always go above and beyond to make sure you have a great culinary experience. We have been going there for years and will continue to go back. The BBQ meat is some of the best I’ve ever had. I recently tried the fish dish on the menu (salmon and more recently the mahi mahi) and it it was amazing!"
"This restaurant is located in a great area, walking up the street and seeing the smoke billowing from the window set the right mood immediately. The venue is very much a sports bar where you can consume smoked meat, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the prices were all reasonable (maybe a bit high). Most of the food was top tier, from the onion rings to the pulled pork, the dipping sauce, and the side salad. The only part that wasn't top tier was the brisket - it had an excellent flavour but was a bit dry and chewy. Overall a great experience with a free mates and would definitely go back."
