Big John's Italian Seafood Restaurant 502 Rocky Point Road, Sans Souci, New South Wales 2219

"I was at Big John's this evening. Although the food is good, I found the way one of the manager's/owner was speaking to one of his staff (pizza maker) was inappropriate. The staff member was belittled in front of the customers. I witnessed the manager yelling at him on a few occasions. This is bullying and humiliating for the staff member. It is 2023 and this should not be happening in any workplace. This is NOT acceptabIe! I will not be returning to this restaurant again. Very disappointed."

"I had a terrible encounter with Christine, the 'manager,' two Saturdays ago at Big John's. As locals and long-time customers, we've ordered from them for years. I called to order 13 pizzas totaling $300. Christine took my order, but right from the start, she was abrupt, short, and rude, lacking basic manners. She insinuated that I was a scammer and didn't even let me explain that I was a genuine customer with friends over. Even when I went to the restaurant to pay, her rude behavior continued. She justified it by saying she works in hospitality and I don't understand. I remained calm while talking to her, but she deflected blame and didn't care about my feelings as a customer. Dianne, another employee, tried to handle the situation and was quite lovely. To make matters worse, we waited in the restaurant for another 15 minutes for the pizzas, only to find out they were already ready and placed on the table for collection. Christine failed to inform us about this. Overall, we love Big John's pizzas and they taste great, but after this encounter, we're hesitant to return."

"If I could give this zero stars, I would. The food that actually came out was good, but the service was questionable at best. 2 hours in and we were still waiting for our drinks, in a non air-conditioned, no ventilation area, and only some food coming out. Our steak came out raw, barely cooked - not even bleu when we asked for medium rare. One of the waitresses ignored our feedback and told us that it is medium rare. We then had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come talk to us about the steak, which by that time was cold and they said they would be happy to re-cook that same steak. We asked for it to be taken off the bill and after some much crazy back and forth, they agreed. But when we got the bill, it was still on there! A total of 3 hours later, we had half full bellies, a loss of appetite and a bad taste from the terrible service. This has to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had. If you'd like the kitchen nightmare experience, I'd recommend you go here - otherwise steer clear completely because it just was not worth it."

"I visited this restaurant with my family with the expectation of a rubbish customer service and I got exactly what I expected. They did get 4 stars for the food serving as it was huge which is great. Food tastes ok."
