"We had a terrible dinner experience and do not recommend. It was disappointing esp as we were out for an important celebration, 13 of us. If you’re going to charge the prices you do (kids menu $39 per child?!) the service and food quality has to significantly improve, it’s currently unacceptable. We waited over one hour for food to arrive, when it did, it was cold and/or undercooked. The post mix for the kids drinks had run out so they tasted terrible, and our son pulled out a long hair from his mouth whilst eating chicken. The wait staff were empathetic however given how many things went wrong, we thought the customer service would be better, at least offer compensation (or replacement) of food. DO NOT go to this restaurant!!"
"Loved the stay at this place. We came by public transport and walked from Katoomba train station. We got Room 21, which I found to be spacious and nice. The fireplace in the room was a nice plus. The bed was comfortable. Some of the floorboards creak when stepped on, but that’s what add to the charm of this place for me. On our first night, there were strong winds and we could hear the sounds clearly in our room. On the second night, it was all quiet and peaceful. We didn’t bring any indoors footwear, and there were none in the room which was carpeted. There are two seating rooms that you can go and sit down to chill and relax. Or just grab the books off the shelves to read. There’s a small gym on site in a separate building next to the spa facilities. And a small pool that’s open during certain seasons. The place is near enough to walk to Katoomba Street, where there are plenty of dining and shopping options. It also makes for a great base to explore the Blue Mountains. And there’s also a cinema that’s within walking distance on the other side of the train station. The staff at the reception were great. Check in and out was a breeze."
"No view from rooms, restaurant and room service were closed due to Christmas in July only dinner ($1 75pp!) and parking was very limited. The room had been made up for someone else and we ended up waiting another 30 min for them to redo it. The ambiance is nice and view from the dining room is good, but check the kitchen is open if you want to eat in"
"On arrival Nigel and "Santa" Sam provided us with an amazing suite with a view for the Yule Festival - the lunch was delicious and Armando our waiter was so engaging and provided great recommendations. The location of the hotel was great, within walking distance to the Katoomba Street where we were lucky to discover the Fire Festival which was eye opening and lots of fun with food stalls and lots of dressed up characters. The Bar snacks at dinner were fantastic with wonderful service from a talented bar tender, they also had a soulful singer Amy who was delightful with a voice as smooth as butter. What a great little getaway! I would highly recommend this hotel for its charm views history and service."
