Reviews
"I did see the bad reviews on this place but I wanted to give it a try anyways, please save your money and don't stay here. The place was dark, dull and dirty looking, the kitchen also looked filthy and the room I got reminded me of a hospital room, the sheets/beds were all plain white with light blue walls, there wasn't even a proper wardrobe. The food in the kitchen was for everybody to use which I think is unsanitary especially jouring covid. The only food that was there anyway was bread, butter and yogurts + coffee and tea. The WiFi was very slow and not so good. This place is overpriced for what it is. Only plus was that the staff was friendly and nice. Other then that i wouldn't recommend to anybody."
"Firstly, the gentleman who owns this place is extremely friendly and it was nice to hear some of the history behind the building itself and we were delighted as this property allows pets as we don’t like leaving our 12-year old Yorkshire Terrier if we go away but it needs quite a bit of work done. There is a lot of potential with this B&B if there was money willing to be put into renovations. We had quite a bit of mould on the ceiling in our room (as seen in the photos) and the window was in need of repair. We didn’t realise the window could not shut properly until the high winds started and we were getting hit by smalls pockets of cold air. Wi-Fi was also non-existent in our room. We had mentioned it to Vincent in the common area as that seemed to be the only place where you can get steady Wi-Fi and he had seemed surprised by it not working for us. After checking other reviews, many others seemed to have issues with the Wi-Fi so it is not a one off. An issue that is at no fault of the accommodation, but they need to step in and do something is the home next door leaves their dog out all day in all weather conditions and it barks non-stop. It wasn’t until 12 a.m. that the poor dogs owners either came home or came outside when my partner (who at this point was so fed up) banged on our window to tell them to bring their dog inside. We got a not so friendly response but they brought the dog in. Poor thing was left in the pouring rain during the wintertime with no shelter. I’m sure other people have had the same experience (as per reviews) and noise complaints can be made to the appropriate authority by the business as it affects their custom. I would recommend downloading movies so you have entertainment if you can’t get Wi-Fi, bring your own pillow as the ones here aren’t great, and make sure to bring your own shampoo and body wash as none is supplied. Again, this place has so much potential! If they look at the majority of comments and see what the consistent issues are and act on them, place could be great, especially with folks being able to bring their pets."
"Great for hikers doing the wild Atlantic way! Friendly, welcoming host and staff! Clean and cosy rooms in an Georgian style house located close to the centre of sligo!"
"I wanted to ignore the bad reviews and see the best in this place but I am sorely disappointed with my stay. The room was freezing, the shower has NO hot water, the continental breakfast is in a filthy kitchen that I couldn't bring myself to eat from, and the whole place smells horrible. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs. Despite the bargain of a price this place was not worth it in my opinion. I felt unclean even sitting on the bed."
"Very dark and dreary, wifi rubbish, half the sockets in the room didn't work, mattresses badly needed changing, 3 clothes hangers available for 4 people in our room. On check in I asked if gluten free options were available for breakfast, the answer I got was "I don't know". Luckily I brought my own gluten free food. You get what you pay for really"
