"We were visiting Galway from Canada and both my wife and I fell ill (Vertigo and cough) got injured (Broken hand). As our travel insurance covers all costs we thought it woulda good idea to go private as might be faster. Checked around and Laya website stated they can treat our ailments, so we decided to go here... The staff and facility were nice. Very nice! But for for the cost and what we got in terms of treatment... It's as some described it... quite scammy. For my broken hand, I was x-rayed and diagnosed. Was simply told to go to A&E because of angulation of my bone (Galway Clinic or NUIG) to see an orthopedic doctor. Received no painkillers for pain, no splint to help. Just referral and cd with E-rays. Fair enough but not happy that Laya website say's they treat fractures - just not all types and severities. My wife is STILL sick almost two weeks as she quite Clearly misdiagnosed. Doc say right ear was profiteered. Got back to Canada, they said the left one. No viral infection diagnosed in Ireland. Canada Doctor confirmed there was but getting better. Laya Doctor prescribed an anti-histamine vs anti-viral/anti-nausea/anti-dizziness for the vertigo and coughing. Did not help at all. So yes, why did we spend money here for a treatment that did nothing to improve our symptoms?? That's the reason for 1 star. Have to say though, had similar bad experience at Galway Clinic so my advice to travelers that need medical care in Galway, stay away from private - Go to NUIG Hospital first thing in the morning, and you will be grand."
"Brilliant Service - I used this service for urgent care last year and more previously to get an MRI on a sports injury. Service was brilliant, results extremely prompt. The MRI staff (especially the man who scanned me) were so friendly at 9:40 at night when I was the last scan to go. Thanks!"
"As an Australian traveller I had been struck down with a nasty gastro virus. The care could not have been better, and now on the way to recovery. The staff were wonderful and Dr Albert was a caring compassionate Doctor who listened and treated me accordingly. Australia could learn a lot from this type of clinic. Many thanks"
"Reception was pleasant. The diagnostic-machine operators seemed to me to be either incompetent or inexperienced. They were unhelpful and it seemed to me that they had no training in advising patients and had been trained only in knowing which button to press to activate the machine that goes beep. I'm sure their hearts were in the right place but I could not feeling that they were on minimum wage. Otherwise, the environment was clean etc and the procedure was only 30 minutes later than scheduled."
