"The staff are doing the best they can, but under staffing leaves many waiting hours and hours waiting to be seen. I have found every so helpful and friendly"
"7 hours wait for lungs too be checked. Turned worse in hospital because of stress... Went home after no service provided"
"My lady had emergency letter and having COVID symptoms spent 7 hours with a needle in her hand, with no water on unconformable seat, alone in the room, in tears and without assistance waiting for doctor to check her. 8 nurses around were just chatting and giving 0sh!... Had to left because impossible to deal with this."
"staff are lovely but hospital management system is awful. Very long waits with little to no updates on your next steps or a realistic wait time. Lots of people on trollies or waiting 11+ hrs for hospital ommision. I came with GP letter and instructions, this does not help, your in same system as everyone. There was no que system at a&e reception. A&e was a 1 hr 10 wait on a Wednesday. Zone B triage was 2 hours before bloods taken for me and 4hrs for patient next to me. 5hrs and counting for instruction on my next step. Patients are afraid to go to the toilet or walk incase they miss their name are called when away. Bathrooms were clean. Chairs are not comfortable to sleep in. There are some plug sockets available for sharing and a water cooler. Very little food and drink facilities for late at night. Parking max 10e a day. Bus stop right outside hospital. Tv on rte in waiting room. Note noone is checking on Elderly patients on their own, staff are so busy they cannot help. if your visiting and well enough please check in on those who are not able bodied. They might need a drink, snack or a chat."
"I want to thank all who work in A&E especially zone B who have tirelessly looked after my dad and all the other very ill people on the ward. To every member of staff, from the cleaners, porters, nurses, nurses assistants, doctors, registrars, security staff, catering staff (especially Theresa who let me use her phone) and radiologists / radiographers, my family and I want to thank you all so very much for taking care of my father who found himself in dire straits on Friday night and has been looked after so well, despite a shortage of beds and resources. We were so very worried but were put at ease by the staff we were listened to with patience compassion and understanding. Other than the lack of resources that is beyond the control of the staff on the front line. I have had nothing but a positive experience of the new A&E. There was only excellent care and attention afforded to our dad. Many many thanks"
