"Booked my Car in for a standard lubrication service and upon collection, I checked the dipstick in the engine bay and was shocked to see the oil the same colour and consistency as it was pre service. I raised this issue with staff and I was told that as far as they were concerned they had carried out the service and it was my problem that I wasn't satisfied with it. It's a shame such a reputable company can provide such a below standard service. Hi, Thank you for the response but there seems to be a misunderstanding. Proving that the service was carried out and proving that it was carried out adequately are two completely different things. I have been getting cars serviced for over 20 years and I have never saw oil that colour and consistency so soon post service/oil change. Upon declining to watch the CCTV, I took the car to a mechanic with over 40 years experience and he was surprised with the oil that came out of the car, considering the fact it had only been changed 150km previous."

"Purchased a 162 VW golf 1.6 diesel approved used car 2 years ago. I purchased the extended warranty to ensure peace of mind. Injectors started giving trouble after the first year. I brought the car to laharts, and went through the VW recommended treatment plan with additive. The additive did not work in the end and one injector was replaced under warranty to solve the problem. Two days after the repair, the same chugging upon start reoccurred. When I brought the car back I was informed injector 2 had to be replaced. I was also advised I would need to go through the VM treatment plan again (company policy). I was made aware that the warranty was now closed as the original job for the first injector was completed. Therefore, I would have to pay for the replacement injector and submit a request that VW group to reopen the warranty, which was not guaranteed. After speaking with an independent mechanic, the 162 VW Golf's 1.6 diesel engines are known for this problem. The Permanent fix is to replace all the remaining injectors which will cost approx €1500. I was shocked with how poor the after sale service in laharts is. The fact that the warranty was closed after an unsatisfactory fix was made is beyond me. The garage claims that the second injector replacement is a separate issue even though the fix made 3 days earlier was completed to resolve the same issue. The issue was reported within warranty and the garage's approach was to manage it as an out of warranty issue. The warranties aren't worth the paper they are printed on given the red tape and company policies they have in place."
