Our Itinerary spanned from Galway to Northern Ireland and in between. We were paired with and amazing driver guide, Bob. Lifelong Irish and retired Guarda, Bob was so wonderful to spend time with. "While planning a family trip for 11, I went through a rigorous search for a company to provide transportation/guide services for 8 days out of our 13 day Ireland trip. I couldn't he'd been more pleased with the overall service, from the planning of the trip w/ Michelle, to the actual experience w/ our driver Frank. I had already planned most of our accommodations & had a tentative itinerary planned & booked. We began with 3 days in Dublin and didn't use them for this part of the trip! For the remainder of the trip, I simply wanted transportation w/a driver/guide who could be sure to enhance our trip w/ local knowledge, suggestions of sites, & overall guidance and direction, packaged with a comfortable vehicle for the group. WE DEFINITELY GOT THAT with Ireland Chauffeur Travel and Frank. We were provided a Posh Mercedes sprinter van w/ enough seats for 12. The rear seats had tables. There were plugs, A mini- drawer fridge, it was great! The cost was definitely worth it and honestly, I felt like it was pretty reasonable. I do believe we saved quite a bit of money since we booked our own accommodations and tours but if you are one who doesn't know where to start or have the time to do all the research, they know exactly what they are doing will try to work within your budget. From the flexibility of schedule that he worked with, the waters and refreshments that they provided to helping us secure an additional driver on a late evening out to a medieval Dinner at a Castle outside of Galway (where our 8 hour time limit would be expiring... more on that later) ... to when I forgot my phone on the van and Frank had to bring it back to me the following morning and was extremely willing and accommodating to help ( and this was a free day so it was out of Franks way to come back to Galway but he gladly bought it :).... and Having done a trip like this previously but without a driver or guide ( we self drove with a group of 14 for over 2 weeks), this was definitely the way to go! We were thrilled with the flexibility, especially since I had already planned an itinerary and they were able to work with me to fine tune it and to get in most of everything that we wanted. A TRUE WIN and amazing vacation for us all! The only thing we missed was due to weather... And Frank went above and beyond to try to move things around so that we could get another shot at it! :) The only suggestion that I have for improvement... Or perhaps something that just could be clarified prior to the trip is that limitations on drivers hours is not just limited to our tour time.... I was advised ahead of time that drivers are restricted from driving any more than 8 hours a day. I was aware of that, however there were a few occasions where we had to end earlier that I expected because that time includes any time that the driver needs to return to his/her final destination. We really only ran into this issue a couple times, but there were days I expected to get another hour in to make a specific stop but because the driver had an hour drive after our day ended then we had to end our day an hour earlier. This was somewhat disappointing especially, since on one of those days it was our last day and I wanted to make that one additional stop. So when planning your days you definitely want to work with the guides/planners to accommodate for this. Since their office is in Cashel, if you are ending your day in Dublin and they have to return to the office following your drop off, then you have to accommodate for that time in YOUR day of adventure. Really, it ended up working out but definitely could mess with a schedule if you want to get a Very FULL day of sites in... Just communicate w/ the team prior about what you want to do so it's all planned! Also, there was an AC issue near the end but at no fault of Frank. He worked to get it fixed the best he could and you rarely need AC there! :) When I visit again, and i definitely will be back... I WILL NO DOUBT be calling Ireland Chauffeur travel & FRANK! We had a the trip of a lifetime & it was amazing."
