"It’s tough to overstate how much I enjoyed my experience here. As a guy traveling alone to Ireland for the first time this place became my favorite pub within the first ten minutes of sitting down. Exceptional, hard working staff. Attentive and polite across the board. The food was exceptional and the music was enough to bring a tear to my American eye. I understand many may see Irish pubs as novelty. I’m sure the staff at Bill Chawkes Bar (among others) may often be annoyed playing travel agent to tourists. If that is so, they have the patience of saints, walked me through my new obsession of hurling, beat me at pool and kept me in good company. You cannot go to Adare and miss this place. Hell, you can’t go to Ireland and miss this place. Sean is running an extremely tight ship and I plan on traveling the 12 hours to return soon. It’s quite worth it. Drink big, tip heavy, and good luck on the pool table. I grabbed a case of Magner’s (Bulmers) on the way home from the airport just to have a slice of immediate nostalgia. Cannot endorse enough."
