"Views were great as well as amount of time stopping along the way (so there are some stars) but wow I wish I just had noise cancelling headphones. Our tour guide spent most of the time talking about how depressing the towns are. Repeating how "all the people are gone," "no one wants to live here," "people need a community," "there's just nothing here." When we asked a question about some land feature to interrupt his depressing rant, he would say a sentence or two and then just go back to his repetitive droning. I was looking forward to the Ring of Kerry so much but was left learning hardly anything about it (scrolling around on Google maps now realizing we passed by so many historic sites that were never mentioned because he was just complaining about the small towns, salmon, and Irish people's apathy about all of Ireland's problems) and just feeling so sad for the few people that are left in each little town dying of loneliness and for all the salmon who have died due to overfishing. A little bit about these topics would've been just fine but a 20-30 minute rant about the same thing he said an hour ago before is not ok! To Corcoran Tours: please make sure all of your drivers actually like the area they are giving the tour for. This guy sounds like he would rather live in a big city instead of surrounded by nature's beauty. He would probably do better giving tours there too!"
