"please if you can avoid it don't go here, waited 10 hours for an xray on a collarbone injury which could have been LETHAL, was put through three different doctors who all said "everything's fine" yet they all refused to show me my xrays, my collarbone was clearly sticking out and causing me pain"
"PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. We went there because my boyfriend had an accident with his leg last night and could not walk. To begin with, the two guys at the entrance were very unfriendly. It gave us the feeling that they didn't care about the people inside, they just wanted to finish their job and go home. At first, we were told that my boyfriend should spend the night in the hospital as he should wait about 7 hours before being seen. We didn't have a car, but a friend who lives with us helped us get around. We left my boyfriend in the hospital and went home. After a while, my boyfriend called me again saying that he would not spend the night there (he was offered a chair to sleep on). We had to go back to the hospital and take my boyfriend. He told me that a nurse took a quick look at him and did not tell him anything, just gave him some useless pills. He was given NO SOLUTION for his leg pain and he was clearly suffering, unable to move on his own. During our stay there, we also met a patient who was waiting for hours and hours and who told us about her situation, also dissatisfied by the treatment of this hospital."
"Friendly, calm atmosphere. I was treated and looked after very well. Yes, it’s an emergency department and yes there’s waiting but at least I was being kept informed about the progress of the assessment. Tea and even dinner where offered during my 8hour stay. Considering the vast amount of different emergencies I felt always treated like a person, not a number. Well done CUH emergency department"
"I wouldnt normally write reviews about a hospital, but i thought this was worth it. i needed an Xray, was in and out in twenty minutes, i kid you not. they just scanned it, then rang me later with the results, none of this triage or anything; very good i thought"
"I've spent little some time both as a patient and caregiver to kids and elderly parents. I can say the doctors and nurses do their best with very limited resources. I would hate to work in this environment under the pressure these people work under. I'm sure people have heard of and expierence better national healthcare services but that's not where we are at now in Ireland. Instead of downrating on Google maybe contact your TD and change the system. The day you see the staff in A and E is already a terrible day for you, but remember if you are abrupt and rude to staff they are hardly likely to go out of their way to help you."
